Chats with our friendly travel bloggers

Who in the world does more travelling that most – it’s our friendly travel bloggers.  They’ve been all over the place and have experienced a great variety of places to stay and have much to say about accommodation.  We didn’t want to take up too much of their time so we just asked them 3 little questions, and here are the answers…

What would you look for in a holiday house?

I really love stylish properties, so that’s always most important to me. Whether that’s a chic modern place or a rustic contemporary hideaway, it needs to make me fall in love with it. Location is the next thing I consider. I’d rather stay a little further out if it means I can stay somewhere that’s Instagram worthy!

Where would you like to celebrate in the UK?

Having recently returned from a stylish getaway in Norfolk, I’d have to pick there. I went with my husband and son. We had so much fun enjoying the local country parks and nature trails, so I’d like to go back as a big group of friends and family. I’m sure they’d love it too.

What’s going to be the next big thing in holiday lettings for 2017?

I’d like to think that holiday lettings could get more in line with real life by reducing restrictions on the number of nights you have to stay. Minimum stays often dampen a potential trip. We’re all so precious with our time, so if we can only get away for one night it’d be great to not have to miss out on a cute cottage getaway.

Being Erica

What would you look for in a holiday house?

Personally I want something a little quirky. I don’t want your run of the mill, big standard hotel room or serviced apartments, I want something that suits the area I’m in, something a bit different, and something that makes me want to take lots of pictures and brag a bit.

Where would you like to celebrate in the UK?

I’m a massive champion of the Staycation. In my mind, the UK has so much to offer, and can be just as amazing as a holiday abroad – depending on what you want. I’m a big fan of the various coastlines; from pebble beaches to sheer cliff-faces, the coast always has something incredible to offer!

What’s going to be the next big thing in holiday lettings for 2017?

People want comfort and relaxation when they’re on holiday, but again, still don’t want something dull. I’m looking for some really niche lodgings like a reclaimed train car, shipping containers in trees, luxury yurts, and everything in between!

Wonder & Wander

What would you look for in a holiday house?

I usually have my top three – a bath to soak in, a real fire to warm by and a homely feel to make it that extra bit nice

Where would you like to celebrate in the UK?

I love the Cotswolds, being in the countryside but never too far from a town

What’s going to be the next big thing in holiday lettings for 2017?

I think ‘air bnb’ style lettings are going to grow, I spotted a new version called Plum already which is trying to launch presently

There’s lots of interesting stories to read so click here for a link to Lizzie’s Wonder & Wander blog
