This stunning new installation has sprung up on the roof of the De La Warr Pavilion on Bexhill on Sea to mark the finale of the Cultural Olympiad, a series of events and exhibitions to celebrate the artistic side of the events happening all over the UK this summer (because, lets face it, long jump and synchronised swimming isn’t for everyone!). The exhibition entitled ‘Hang on a Minute Lads, I have a great idea’, is the brainchild of sculptor Richard Wilson and is designed in the spirit of the iconic final scene from the film ‘The Italian Job’- where engineering and art are combined to position a life size double decker bus off the roof!
Eddie Izzard, a patron of De La Warr Pavilion, also has the honour of being principal sponsor of this exhibition exploring the unanswerable question of ‘what if?’- as characterised by the final scene in the film, where Michael Caine and the gang have to decide whether to save themselves or the gold from the teetering vehicle!
The question ‘what if?’ is one on the lips of a lot of people this summer… what if it never stops raining??! What if I can’t make it away with my friends? What if my summer holiday is rubbish??! Let Mulberry Cottages take away all you fears with beautiful places to stay come rain or shine… check out our latest summer deals here…http://www.mulberrycottages.com/special-offer-cottages/
