This stylish self catering Sussex cottage within the grounds of Old Church Farm is a gorgeous rural retreat. With the stunning Norman Church of this Sussex village to one side and far reaching rural views from the windows it would be hard to find another cottage in such a peaceful location. The owners have created a lovely ambiance within the cottage using a mix of blues and whites as well as a nautical and seaside theme with prints and ornaments. Cream tongue and groove walls and painted wooden floors throughout The Dairy ensure that the charm of this old building is maintained. With the wonderful Sussex beaches at Pett Level just a few minutes away and with plenty of footpaths surrounding the cottage this holiday home is ideal for walkers and those who want to enjoy the abundant wildlife.

The Dairy, Old Church Farm Holiday Accommodation

This Sussex cottage is entered via a small lobby which has plenty of space for coats and boots. The main living area of the cottage is open plan with the modern kitchen at one end, dining in the middle and the seating area at the far end. This is a lovely room which has been very well interior designed by the owners. The kitchen is modern with shaker style units painted in pale cream. There is plenty of space for preparation of meals and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need. There is a fridge/freezer, electric hob, electric oven, microwave and extractor fan. A lovely cream painted dresser shelving unit hangs on the wall with plenty of hanging mugs, glassware and china for use during your stay. The glass circular dining table has seating for 4 and there is a further lovely blue painted dresser with more china and glass. The living area is spacious with Freeview TV and DVD. There are two large blue and white comfy sofas; one is a large daybed and a further two armchairs in pale yellow. There are many traditional seaside prints and nautical ornaments which add to the overall ambiance of this cottage. Blue and white striped blinds on the windows, as well as some with shutters give this cottage further charm. The Dairy is a single storey property with the family bathroom and bedroom leading from the entrance hall. The bathroom is spacious and modern with a bath and modern power shower above, WC, basin and also a washing machine. Large mirrors on the walls as well as seaside themed pictures complete the scene. The double bedroom has a wrought iron double bed, lamps and plenty of cupboard space for storage. The day bed in the living room can be made into a large single bed. Throughout the dairy there is a painted wooden floor with occasional rugs. Outside there is a sunny terrace with table, chairs and bbq. There is plenty of parking space. This property can be combined with The Granary at Old Church Farm for larger group accommodation.

Local Information about Guestling, East Sussex

For those staying at The Dairy there is so much to do in the local area. For nature lovers and walkers this Sussex location must be one of the best, there are local ancient woodlands and so much wonderful wildlife to watch. Pett Level beach in East Sussex is lovely and at low tide you can even see the remains of the prehistoric submerged forest. Winchelsea a short drive away has more beaches as well as being an interesting historical town to visit. The Sussex town of Rye, not far from this holiday cottage is full of interesting winding cobbled streets, restaurants and cafes. It is even possible to buy fresh fish direct from the harbour including the famous Rye Bay scallops. Hastings a few miles to the west is a wonderful seaside town to explore and it still has so much charm and character. For children there is the Sea Life Centre and all the traditional seaside amusements to keep them happy and naturally many delicious Fish and Chip shops! Of course the historical connections with the Battle of Hastings in 1066 will keep many a historian interested. The 1066 Long Distance Way passes through the church yard at Old Church Farm and is just 100 meters away from the cottage.

Within a few miles there are several well-regarded pubs with CAMRA recognition, all serving delicious local food. There are also many National Trust houses in the area, golf within 6 miles and slightly further a field are the lovely towns of Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne.

The dairy was great. What a cottage. Very much room and more then enough plates, cups and so on. Location is beautifull, very quiet and very friendly owners. Good location for walking, but also good for visiting small villages. We hope to come back.
