The holiday cottage is all on one level and the front door leads into a porch with area for coats and boots. The utility room has a washing machine and buckets and spades for all to use. A step up leads through into the Kitchen/breakfast room where much of the original feel has been retained. The white washed floor and pretty blue and white painted units give a charming nautical feel with electric cooker, bread maker and shelving with pretty china and glass. The larder has further shelving and a fridge/freezer. There is a small scrubbed table with a couple of stools.
A door leads through to the lovely sunny sitting room with white painted floors, an attractive bay window, a good selection of comfy sofa (with double sofa bed) and armchairs grouped around the log burner (one basket of logs provided). The lovely original paintings and quirky antiques complete the 'new England' feel. Doors lead through to the light and sunny conservatory with a more formal dining area for 6 and a desk overlooking the gardens.
The cottage has two bedrooms. The spacious main bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps and a leather chaise longue. There is also a cot if required for this room. The second twin room has twin beds, a wardrobe and bedside tables. The bathroom has a bath with a hand held shower and basin carrying through the blue and white theme. There is a separate WC and wash basin.
The warm and cosy cottage has gas central heating.
Outside the garden is charming, with different areas to enjoy and completely surrounds the cottage, ensuring total privacy. In the summer there are two seating areas to enjoy al fresco dining. A gate leads down to the track to the beach with a children's playground opposite on the village green. There is parking for one car, plus further spaces on the unmade up road.

The village itself has very well-stocked modern supermarket and popular village pub and the green, just a stone's throw away, has a children's play area with swings, slides etc. The beach is just a few minutes walk across the green.
Winchelsea Beach in Sussex is about a mile from the town itself and thus a short distance from this charming English holiday cottage. The Sussex town is steeped in history being one of the largest ports on the south coast in early medieval times. It is approached through an original 13th century arch and most of the cottages in the Sussex town have cellars where smuggled brandy was stored! Tours of some of these smugglers haunts are often available to experience during your stay at this self catering holiday cottage in Sussex.
The wonderful Sussex beaches of Winchelsea (shingle) and Camber (sandy) beyond, surround this holiday cottage in Sussex and are within five minutes with miles of beach and lots of water sports - lessons are available! Also Rye, in Sussex, with its winding cobbled streets, antique shops and tea shops is well worth a visit during your stay at this self catering holiday cottage in Sussex.
Further inland there are several National Trust places to visit during your stay at this Sussex holiday cottage, including Sissinghurst and Bodiam Castle; both of which are not far from this English coastal holiday cottage in Sussex.
Why not visit the recently opened Jerwood Gallery in Hastings, situated right on the seafront and nestled between the famous Hastings fishing huts and the historic old town. The Jerwood Gallery, little sister of the influential Jerwood space in London, houses some of the most exciting paintings produced in the 20th and 21st centuries as well as supporting young artists through its charitable arm, the Jerwood Foundation. It is less than 20 minutes by car from Southerndown.
