Holiday Cottage in Camber, East Sussex Sleeps 6 + 2
Charming smugglers cottage in Camber just a few minutes walk from the wonderful white sandy beach at Camber Sands, perfect for a family holiday or lazy days on the beach! The historic town of Rye is a few miles away and is full of winding cobbled streets with interesting shops and restaurants ready to be explored from your smugglers cottage in Camber. There is even a harbour where you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen. A wonderful location for short breaks or longer family holidays.
This attractive Sussex self catering holiday cottage is situated just across the road from the beach at Camber Sands. Tucked away down a drive it would make an ideal holiday getaway with a private garden and wonderful views of the surrounding marshland. Inside the owners have just refurbished the holiday cottage to offer really comfortable light and airy accommodation all on one floor. With attractive laminate flooring and a stylish grey and white colour scheme it is a perfect example of seaside chic interiors. Easy to maintain and yet with the comfort and style required to make your holiday memorable.
In this Sussex holiday cottage the owners have thought of everything from books and games to lego and toys for the kids so that you have time to relax and enjoy your stay. There are three bedrooms, all furnished in a simple yet contemporary style with crisp white linen and lovely views towards the surrounding marshes. All in all this would be a wonderful base for a seaside holiday or short break in this popular part of the coast of Sussex.

The front door of this Sussex beach cottage leads directly into the light and airy living room with laminate flooring in an attractive grey shade . There is seating at one end grouped around the original fireplace. With two large, comfortable sofas (one of which is a sofabed), a stool and a bean bag there is space for all. The shelving to either side of the TV has books and games with the TV and DVD cleverly tucked into the fireplace alcove making it easily visible to all. There is also a playstation 3 and games for all to use.
The other end of this very spacious room is the dining area with seating for 8 at a very stylish hand painted dining table with clever diamond pattern - ideal for games between meals! A door leads through to the hallway with coat hooks and space for boots.
The kitchen of this Sussex holiday cottage is at the end of the hallway and is well fitted with machinery including electric double oven, electric hob, extractor fan, microwave, washing machine and fridge with a door to the garden.
There are three bedrooms in this self catering cottage, two with double beds, hanging space, bedside tables and lamps and a chest of drawers and the third bedroom has bunk beds and a small chest of drawers. The house has oil central heating throughout.
The shower room is newly fitted with good quality white fittings and has a walk in shower, basin and wc. The shower is pumped to offer really good water pressure.
Outside there is parking on the driveway for several cars and an enclosed garden with five bar gate, a patio seating area outside enjoying the wonderful views and table and chairs.
Camber is a wonderful beach village with an excellent restaurant at The Gallivant renowned for its cuisine and the outdoor barbeque dining in the summer is a must. In nearby Rye there is much to see and do as this famous smugglers town still has the original cobblestone winding streets, citadel and working harbour where fresh fish can be bought direct from fisherman. There are many antiques shops, boutiques and cafes and pubs to explore many with a distinctly fishy theme offering the freshest of produce.
The area is surrounded by the famous Romney Marshes, beloved of artists to this day with the big open spaces, wonderful skyline as far as the eye can see and Royal Military Canal, ideal for a stroll with the dogs.
There are many water sports on offer, particular wind surfing and kite boarding, equipment can be hired and lessons arranged locally for the enthusiast - although you may of course prefer a deck chair and a bucket and spade! Inland there are several wonderful places to visit including Penshurst Place and Sissinghurst Castle , both famous for their beautiful gardens, Hever Castle, home to Anne Boleyn, is within 45 minutes (and Dame Judi Dench has just announced its her favourite place in Britain).
This area bordering Kent and Sussex is also renowned for its award winning vineyards and several within a 10 mile radius of Camber are open for tours including Biddenden Vineyard and Chapel Down.
Why not visit the recently opened Jerwood Gallery in Hastings, situated right on the seafront and nestled between the famous Hastings fishing huts and the historic old town. The Jerwood Gallery, little sister of the influential Jerwood Space in London, houses some of the most exciting paintings produced in the 20th and 21st centuries as well as supporting young artists through its charitable arm, the Jerwood Foundation. It is less than 40 minutes by car from Seaholme.
