There is much to see and do in this lovely part of Sussex. Hartfield is a wonderful village, famous for the place where A. A. Milne wrote Winnie the Pooh. You and your own Christopher Robin can explore the Enchanted Place, throw sticks from the Poohsticks Bridge or take a cream tea (with plenty of honey) at Piglet's tearooms. There is even a Winnie the Pooh shop in the village. The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is only 15 minutes away with a huge array of shops and great places to eat out.
If you fancy a flutter, Plumpton races are within a couple of miles and nearby Lewes has a medieval castle on a hill top waiting for you to explore while admiring the views across this pretty and historic town.
For opera lovers, Glyndebourne is only half an hour away and a wonderful way to enjoy opera in a fabulous setting.
The cosmopolitan city of Brighton is a 35 minute drive away, where you will find an eclectic mix of individual shops and boutique, trendy bars and numerous restaurants, not forgetting the famous pier with traditional funfair rides and fish and chip shops.
The centre of London is a short hour's train journey from either Tunbridge Wells or East Grinstead.
For families, both the Bluebell steam Railway (25 mins) and Drusilla's zoo (40 mins) offer a really special day out for all.
There are many truly English villages with picturesque houses and traditional English pubs to explore - this is England at its best and we don't think you will be disappointed!.

The house was beautiful and very welcoming for new year-it was lovely to have a christmas tree and fairy lights. The extra personal touches such as cream, bath oils etc. in the bathrooms made it particularly 'luxurious'!. Also, welcoming gifts from owners unexpected and greatly appreciated. Also, great to have spices, pickles etc. left in the cupboard. We all had a great time. Not a cheap property obviously, but worth the price.

What a lovely home you have. Thank you so much for the extra touches which made our welcome and stay very special. Our guests from Denmark have had a fantastic time and the children have spent the mornings playing games in the pool. The wedding was marvelous but staying at The Red House with all our family made the whole weekend even better.

A beautiful house, we had a lovely happy time this weekend, the house felt warm and inviting so our murder mystery family gathering went really well, all dressed up and plenty of room for all. Thank you.

Everything at the Red House was up to our expectations.
It was extremely comfortable and contained every possible item required for a happy family get-together.

What a wonderful place for a quiet holiday in the middle of a beautiful little village! Leslie was a great host and Mulberry Cottages have done a great job too. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool, the playground which is next to the house and the adults loved it too. The house was clean, fully equipped, with an excellent aga in the kitchen, a bbq, broadband, big cable tv, another tv to play video games or/and watch films... What else can you expect? Our kids are asking us when we are going to come back to the Red House... Hope we can do it another year. Thanks!!!!
