There is much to see and do in this lovely part of Sussex. Crowborough is a charming country town, famous for the fact that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who wrote Sherlock Holmes lived here.
Situated on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, Crowborough is a fabulous base for exploring the countryside and walking over the forest. You and your own Christopher Robin can explore the Enchanted Place, throw sticks from the Poohsticks Bridge or take a cream tea (with plenty of honey) at Piglet's tearooms. There is even a Winnie the Pooh shop in Hartfield, which is a short drive away.
The spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is only 15 minutes away with a huge array of shops and great places to eat out plus two theatres, a museum and art galleries. There is a cinema complex which holds a bowling alley and restaurants so plenty of fun for the children if the weather is not so good.
There is also a dry ski slope just 15 minutes away, Bowles Outdoor Centre which also has fabulous rock climbing possibilities. For sports enthusiasts, the area has an abundance of golf and tennis clubs, riding and walking possibilities.
If you fancy a flutter, Plumpton races are just over half an hour away and nearby Lewes has a medieval castle on a hill top waiting for you to explore while admiring the views across this pretty and historic town. For opera lovers, Glyndebourne is only half an hour away and provides opera in a fabulous and world famous setting.
The cosmopolitan city of Brighton is a forty five minute drive away, where you will find an eclectic mix of individual shops and boutiques, trendy bars and numerous restaurants, not forgetting the famous pier with traditional fun fair rides and fish and chip shops. For families, both the Bluebell steam Railway and Drusilla's zoo offer a really special day out.
There are many truly English villages with picturesque houses and traditional English pubs to explore - this is England at its best and we don't think you will be disappointed!

Had a fabulous, cosy weekend away from the city. Loved the house, beautiful sitting room with log fire. Enjoyed the games too! Special thanks to Biff who showed us a great time around the farm. We loved the baby lamb! Fresh eggs and milk were appreciated.

We all had a lovely New Year in the cottage, comfortable with all necessary equipment. Plenty of room for all of us to chill out. The babies loved it too!

Great fun with 8 responsible mates. Beautiful house compliments this beautiful country. Loads of fun. Good food, wine and company. We didn’t want for anything and a brand new BBQ in an hour. Many Thanks!

We had a great week at this property, It is clean , fully equipped to the highest standard in a great country position. It was lovely waking up to the noise of horses and lambs in the distance, it felt like worlds apart from what we have have been used to. The house is large and well laid out, love the quiet reading / drinks lounge for the quiet evenings in and the kids lounge with one of the flat screen TVs up on the wall. The grounds are beautiful and then you open the gate to the gem of a swimming pool, if only the weather had been better. All in all a very high grade holiday property which I am sure everyone that stays will fall in love with just as we did.
