This beautiful medieval holiday cottage is approached from a recessed porch into the hallway. The vertical exposed beams divide the entrance from the sitting room with two sofas (one a sofa bed for one), inglenook fireplace, exposed beams and open staircase to first floor. The cottage has a TV with Sky Freeview and a DVD player.
There is one step down to the spacious farmhouse style kitchen with table and chairs for six. The kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob, extractor fan, washer/dryer and microwave and stable door leading to enclosed garden. There are several walk-in cupboards off the kitchen, one of which has a hanging rail if the sofa bed is being used.
Upstairs, there is one double bedroom with double bed and charming views across the rooftops of the medieval cottages towards the countryside beyond. An excellent well equipped bathroom has bath with power shower over, marble topped vanity unit with basin and WC.
Outside the holiday cottage from the kitchen there is a courtyard garden that has a table and four chairs and there is ample parking on the stunning village square.
This self catering holiday cottage is situated in Chilham, Kent. Chilham is a picturesque beautifully kept Kent village on a hill about 5 miles to the south of Canterbury. The village square is surrounded by beamed medieval Kent cottages and is such a good example of a truly English village that it has been used many times for photo shoots! The Kent village of Chilham itself has two public houses; a tea room and gift shop and on the edge of the village a farm shop selling local produce that you can enjoy during your stay at this luxury holiday cottage in Kent. The nearby Kent village of Chartham has a village store.
For public transport near this holiday cottage, the Kent village has both a railway station and bus service between Canterbury and Ashford. Cot and high-chair available (but no linen for cot). From 1st October to 30th April the central heating will be on from 7:00am to 12:00 noon and 5:00pm to 11pm. The heating is turned off at all other times unless requested by the holidaymaker, for which an additional charge will be applied. £4 per night winter heating charge payable from 1st October to 30th April.
A refundable security deposit of £75 is payable with the balance of the rent.
Please note this is a cottage: the height of staircase and doorways may be quite restrictive for very tall visitors. There is an open staircase and children must be supervised, as there is no safety gate.
There is a free public car park a few minutes walk from the cottage and there is also parking in the village square.
WE REGRET THAT SHORT BREAKS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS COTTAGE FROM 1ST MAY TO 30TH SEPTEMBER. A MINIMUM OF 3 NIGHTS SHORT BREAKS AVAILABLE AT ANY OTHER TIME EXCEPT CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR.
