This Kent holiday cottage would be ideal for larger parties with wonderfully spacious accommodation, all bedrooms have ensuite facilities and set in a stunning rural position yet within an hour of London - what more could you ask for?!
The owners of this luxurious barn have thought of everything from providing a huge spacious dining area for that special occasion to providing all bedrooms with comfortable good quality beds and ensuite facilities. The open plan living space is truly wonderful with the double height cathedral like proportions of the dining area making the most of the beautiful exposed beams and wrought iron lighting. Large double height windows at each end of this stunning and dramatic space, allows sunlight to stream in and for you to enjoy the spectacular views in all directions.
There are six bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms or shower rooms making this a truly comfortable experience for you all. One of the ground floor bedrooms has an ensuite wet room and would be suitable for disabled guests.
The cottage is part of a complex of four barns so for larger parties please ask us for further details as together the barns can sleep up to 34.

Whatever your age this would be a wonderful holiday location. The barn is very spacious with lots of room for all but in addition the area has great walks both on the sea shore and in the surrounding countryside and its even within walking distance of a popular pub.
This would make a truly wonderful spot for a large party or a special occasion to holiday on the Kent coast. There is lots of space and light and the open plan living space is perfect for large groups to gather and enjoy all there is to offer in this wonderful spot. With the huge dining table lending itself to celebrations this is a must for your family 'do'! Please ask us if you would like information on local caterers.
The Saltings is one of four barns and for larger party gatherings they can be rented as a whole complex to sleep up to 34 to give you complete privacy and seclusion.
The barns overlook a lovely duck pond (complete with ducklings!) for all to enjoy.
The barn has been rated 4 Star Gold Award by Visit England.
This cottage in Kent is approached from a shared parking area with ample parking for all. The door leads into the open plan and spacious living room with wooden flooring throughout. There main seating areas has banks of sofas grouped around a coffee table with flat screen TV, freeview and DVD.
The excellent shaker style kitchen is very well equipped there is an electric range oven with double hob and two ovens, extractor fan, dishwasher, washing machine and American style fridge freezer with water dispenser and ice maker. The cottage has gas central heating.
The dining room has a long refectory style table that comfortably seats 16. At each end of this stunning room are double height windows, both with french doors, medieval style wrought iron lighting suspended from the ceiling and a wonderful and dramatic beamed ceiling. An inner hallway leads from this to a bedroom wing. There are six double bedrooms all with ensuite on two floors. All bedrooms have double king size zip linked beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, beside tables and lamps and some have a TV with freeview and DVD.
The ground floor bedroom wing has two double bedrooms, all bedrooms have flat screen TV's and ample storage space. Bedroom 1 looks towards the front of the building and has an ensuite wet room (suitable for disabled guests). The wet room comprises shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Bedroom 2 looks over the rear of the building and has wonderful far reaching rural views with an ensuite shower room. This comprises walk in shower, toilet and wash hand basin.
Stairs from the dining room lead to the first floor. A stunning galleried walkway with amazing views leads to two bedroom wings where there are four double bedrooms. Bedroom 3 overlooks the rear towards the duck pond and has an ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Bedroom 4 overlooks the front and has spectacular views with ensuite bathroom. This comprises bath with shower over, toilet and wash hand basin. Bedroom 5 overlooks the rear with its wonderful rural scene and has an ensuite shower room with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Bedroom 6 overlooks the front towards the duck pond and has an ensuite shower room comprising shower, toilet and wash hand basin.
Outside there is a patio area with table and chairs and BBQ. Parking is on the shared driveway with ample space for all overlooking a duck pond and communal area. There is also a communal games room with table tennis table for all to enjoy.
Harty Ferry is a small hamlet on the southern edge of the Isle of Sheppey in completely unspoilt countryside. There are many walks and footpaths in the area both on the shoreline and inland and with Swale Nature Reserve on your doorstop the bird watching is amazing with special look out points to see the birds in their native habitat.
There is an excellent and renowned pub called 'The Ferry House Inn' within an easy walk at Harty Ferry, and boat sea trips can be arranged from there if required. The pub holds regular theme nights, such as Murder Mystery evenings - please contact us for details. There is much to do for all the family as within a few miles there are stables for riding, inland day fishing and a small nine hole golf course.
The Isle of Sheppey has a long association with the Naval dockyards of Chatham which are just across the estuary from the farm. The dockyards have now been turned into a wonderful day out for all from visiting a medieval naval ship to watching rope being made in one of the few remaining rope factories.
Further afield you are within 30 minutes of Bluewater shopping centre for a touch of retail therapy and for a little bit of history why not visit the beautiful moated Leeds Castle. There are several golf courses within easy reach and clay pigeon shooting is offered nearby . For a fun day out for all ages why not try Digger Land or go karting at Buckmore Park where Lewis Hamilton began his career! We could go on and on there is so much to do in this area! Refundable security deposit of £200 is payable. There is a winter heating supplement of 7.50 per night payable from 1st October to 30th April. Short breaks available. One dog is accepted - please note that there are free range chickens and ducks on site so please keep your dog under control. High chair and cot available.
Please note that Mocketts is a working farm. There may be farm machinery operating in the vicinity. Therefore children must be supervised at all times. There is also a large pond adjacent to the properties - although the pond is fenced, families should please be aware of this.
Please note that fireworks and Chinese lanterns are strictly not permitted as they can impact on the surrounding wildlife. We ask that loud music or outside disturbances be kept to a minimum in order to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests and our neighbours.
