Holiday Cottage in Isle of Sheppey, Kent Sleeps 4 + 2
Charming Kent holiday cottage just refurbished to a high standard in a truly stunning rural position. The owners of this cottage in Kent have thought of everything from luxurious beds to a very well equipped kitchen with all machines - there is even an ice maker for your drinks! But without doubt one of the particular features is the amazing views across the farmland and sea towards the north Kent coast at Whistable.
The area is surrounded by walks and is a real bird watchers delight although within an easy drive are some of the main visitor attractions of Kent including Chatham Dockyard and Leeds Castle to name a couple.
The cottage is part of a complex of four barns so for larger parties please ask us for further details as together the barns can sleep up to 36.
Harriers Nest is a very comfortable and light detached holiday home set in a complex of barns overlooking rolling Kent countryside. It would make a real get away from it all location where you could relax and enjoy all that the beautiful English countryside has to offer.
The owners have just finished refurbishing the cottage and it is in excellent condition throughout with good quality luxurious beds and a traditional look to the furnishings.
Outside there is lots of parking, a private patio seating area and a lovely duck pond (complete with ducklings!) for all to enjoy.
The area is very unspoilt and has much to offer from the beaches on the north side of the island (about 5 miles) to the wonderful country walks and bird watching that the Island is famous for.
The property has been rated 4 Star Gold Award by Visit England.
This cottage in Kent is approached from a shared parking area with ample parking for all. A step up leads to the front door and into the fully tiled hallway - very practical after a long walk! The cottage is fully centrally heated.
The shaker style kitchen is very stylish and well equipped with electric oven and hob, extractor fan, washing machine, dishwasher and American style fridge freezer with water dispenser and ice maker. There is a guest cloakroom with toilet and wash hand basin. The sitting room is a charming and light room with stylish comfortable sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. French doors lead onto the private patio garden with wonderful views of the surrounding fields.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a king size double zip linked bed with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, lamps TV with freeview and DVD. Bedroom two is a really good size with twin beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table and lamps. The bathroom has bath with shower over, toilet and wash hand basin.
Outside there is a patio area with table and chairs. Parking is on the shared driveway with three carports and ample space for all overlooking a duck pond and communal area. There is a shared games room with table tennis table above the carports. The cottage has disabled access if required although it is not specifically set up for disabled guests.
Harty Ferry is a small hamlet on the southern edge of the Isle of Sheppey in completely unspoilt countryside. There are many walks and footpaths in the area both on the shoreline and inland and with Swale Nature Reserve on your doorstop the bird watching is amazing with special look out points to see the birds in their native habitat.
There is an excellent and renowned pub called 'The Ferry House Inn' within an easy walk at Harty Ferry, and boat sea trips can be arranged from there if required. The pub holds regular theme nights, such as Murder Mystery evenings - please contact us for details. There is much to do for all the family as within a few miles there are stables for riding, inland day fishing and a small nine hole golf course.
The Isle of Sheppey has a long association with the Naval dockyards of Chatham which are just across the estuary from the farm. The dockyards have now been turned into a wonderful day out for all from visiting a medieval naval ship to watching rope being made in one of the few remaining rope factories. Further afield you are within 30 minutes of Leeds Castle, considered one of the most beautiful moated castles in England which also has attractions like the hire wire experience of 'Go Ape' or balloon rides over the beautiful Kent countryside. The renowned Kent Hop Farm is also within easy reach. All in all there is much to do in this convenient area - or you might decide to relax and enjoy this wonderfully unspoilt spot!
