Large country house with a host of traditional features and some uber modern additions. Tastefully furnished in a modern contemporary style, this Kent holiday home has been finished to an extremely high standard. Just a short drive from the historic City of Canterbury and the Kent coast with towns such as Sandwich, Deal and Whitstable. The high speed rail link can take you from Canterbury to London in just 37 minutes and Paris in 2 hours. Lymbridge Green Cottage is a very special holiday home in Kent and would make an ideal destination for long vacations and short breaks throughout the year.
Fabulous country house set in beautiful surroundings. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard with all the modern conveniences to make your visit to Kent most relaxing and enjoyable. There are stunning views from all rooms over the surrounding Kentish countryside, the house is very light and captures the sun all day with amazing views of the picturesque surroundings. The property has spacious open plan rooms with stunning views through the huge windows on the ground floor; the bedrooms on the first floor also enjoy a superb aspect, especially the master bedroom suite which overlooks the swimming pool and neighbouring paddocks and horses. There are two bathrooms and dressing room all of which are tastefully finished in a modern style and to a high specification. Lymbridge Green Cottage provides excellent holiday accommodation for families. Whilst retaining many traditional features such as the large open fireplace and the exposed brick walls in the lounge area, this self catering holiday home also offers very contemporary additions such as under floor heating throughout, black slate flooring and state of the art Bang and Olufsen TV, DVD and stereo system. The property has lovely views over the surrounding land perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside. The property has direct access to many countryside and forest walks. Wildlife is everywhere, the sound of birdsong is very relaxing and there are even horses grazing in the paddocks. There is a real feeling of the outside coming inside with large doors opening to a spacious terrace with a private garden beyond.

Lymbridge Green Cottage is entered via large gates leading onto its own gravel driveway with large parking area to the side of the property providing ample space for many cars. The front door opens into the spacious hallway with space provided for coats and boots.
Bedroom five leads from the hallway with steps down to the room. The room has two single beds dressed in colourful patchwork quilts with plenty of comfortable cushions. Windows surround the room allowing plenty of natural light to filter through. A chest of drawers offers plenty of storage during your stay. A TV is also provided.
The kitchen and open plan dining area is fitted and furnished to a very high standard. There is a large extendable table seating 12 comfortably.
The uniquely stylish elm kitchen units with carrera marble worktops has every conceivable appliance including an American fridge /freezer, dishwasher, gas oven and hob with extractor fan over. The owner has also thoughtfully provided a bread maker, juicer, blender magimix, waffle maker and microwave oven for the more adventurous cooks amongst us!!. The central island gives you plenty of room to prepare a feast for all the family. There is also a large pantry for useful storage of all crockery and glassware as well as a separate utility room housing washing machine and tumble dryer with airing racks for your convenience. The whole house benefits from under floor heating and is covered in black slate floor tiles, spotlights finish the room off perfectly.
A striking wet room adjoins the kitchen with shower, WC and basin, white fluffy towels have been provided for use during your stay.
The spacious living room really does provide the wow factor with features such as the exposed brick wall and the enormous windows that allow the light to flood into the room giving it a natural feeling of light and space. Comfortable sofas in vibrant shades of plums and purples surround the open fireplace, a perfect place to sit and relax whatever the English weather outside. A remote controlled integrated Bang and Olufson entertainment system including TV, DVD, CD, radio and cassette player are provided for your enjoyment during your stay. Broadband is also available.
Stairs lead to the first floor with 4 further bedrooms. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have three comfortable single beds dressed in The White Company 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen. Chest of drawers have been provided in both rooms offering plenty of storage during your stay. Bedroom 4 is a double room with continental queen sized bed, also dressed in crisp cotton bed linen, wall lights finish the room off beautifully. All bedrooms have fantastic gabled vaulted ceilings giving the rooms a spacious, light and airy feel, they also over look the beautiful back garden surrounded by blossom trees.
The Master bedroom has exposed beams in the wonderful open plan apex roof. The king size bed is inviting and cream woollen carpets give the room a luxurious feel finished off beautifully by the wall lights. The double aspect room with large bay window overlooking the garden, pool area and paddocks make this the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There is a large dressing area with hanging space, shelves and drawers for use during your stay.
The luxurious family bathroom with roll top, cast iron bath, power shower, WC and basin surrounded by vanity unit and finished off with carrera marble top, fluffy white towels are provided.
All of the bedrooms have views of the garden, the bed linen is crisp white cotton and each room has a very clean natural style. The whole house benefits from eco friendly ground source under floor heating.
The gardens surround the house and have many different aspects to enjoy. The terrace area which leads from the French doors in the kitchen has a large wooden table, chairs and parasol, the surrounding raised flower beds are planted with lavender and mint, perfect for you to use for added flavour on the bar-be-que that the owner has provided. The large lawned area to the back and side of the cottage is perfect for energetic young children to run off some extra energy. To the side of the cottage, huge beach trees offer the perfect shady spot to relax in, leading onto the 40ft heated swimming pool, due to the English weather, outdoor swimming pools are unlikely to be open before May nor after the beginning of September, please check swimming pool availability if the pool is required. Deck chairs make this the ideal spot to unwind with a glass of wine on hot and sultry summer days. Paddocks with horses surround the pool area (you are respectfully asked not to feed or touch the animals) you can even catch sight of rabbits tumbling about in the fields, after dark all sorts of woodland creatures visit the cottage. This area makes the most of the countryside location and is ideal for entertaining; the sunsets are a really fantastic and it makes a perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. This is a fabulous property to stay in during your holiday, set in some of East Kent's beautiful countryside.
The location of Lymbridge Green Cottage couldn't be better, offering the best of both the countryside and the coast. The historic seaside town of Hythe is a short drive away where, apart from the sea you can also sample some of the best fish and chips around. Hythe has an abundance of quaint shops as well as fabulous tea rooms, restaurants, and pubs for you to sample.
How about a trip along the Hythe canal where you can enjoy watching the boats bobbing about on the water, if you are feeling slightly more adventerous you can hire a boat yourself. For energetic children maybe a bike ride would be in order, you can cycle all the way from Folkestone to Dungeness along the sea wall, remember to take a drink and a snack, however because it is approximately 17 miles to get there and once there you will have to cycle back so beware.
Canterbury, one of Kent's most famous towns, with the famous Canterbury Cathedral is about a half hour drive away from this luxury Kent holiday cottage, and many hours can be spent discovering this medieval Kent city with its winding cobbled streets and historic buildings. It also offers a wonderful shopping experience with the Whitefriars shopping centre for you to enjoy during your stay at this Kent holiday cottage.
Whitstable castle, further along the coast, is a fantastic place to visit with many events held throughout the year including the annual May Day celebrations where all sorts of stalls are erected and live musicians and local artists put on displays for the town celebrations, as traditional local morris dancers entertain the crowds. The castle also hosts many classes and workshops and the public are always welcome to visit and enjoy the beautiful gardens surrounding the main building. The Whitstable oyster festival in July is well worth a visit where you are invited to an eclectic and entertaining mix of outdoor and indoor events including family, heritage, arts and food and drink. All are affordable, many are free and there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Howletts Wild Animal Park is a real must for anybody who is curious about wild animals, set in 90 acres of beautiful ancient parkland this truly is a fabulous day out for all the family. Howletts is the Wild Animal Park with surprises around all corners. From glass fronted tiger enclosures offering a close encounter with the biggest of cats to gorillas, clouded leopards, monkeys, and hundreds of rare and endangered species from around the world. Also home to the UK's largest herd of African elephants and the Black Rhino breeding sanctuary.
During the Olympic Games (27th July to 12th August) Southeastern will be operating a Javelin shuttle service using high speed trains from St Pancras International and Ebbsfleet International Stations to the Olympic Park in Stratford. Five trains per hour will run between these stations, with a further two departures from Ashford International each hour and one departure an hour from Faversham. Ebbsfleet International Station is one of the official 'Park and Rail' Services and just 10 minutes by high-speed rail link into the centre of the Olympic Park.
