With a pretty courtyard garden complete with grapevine, it's the perfect place to sit and eat or better still take a BBQ on to the beach and enjoy a Whitstable sunset. This romantic Island Wall cottage still retains the original 'lookout' with binoculars available so that you can enjoy the stunning sea views and then perhaps be tempted to explore the bay in the cottage's kayak! Conveniently located, and with plenty of activities to enjoy; tennis courts are adjacent with water sports, bowling and a swimming pool nearby. Coastguards Cottage is a perfect year round base for both families and couples taking weekly or shorter breaks.

This stunning holiday cottage in Kent is the epitome of a traditional English beach cottage with all the beautiful features you would expect to find.

This delightful self catering holiday cottage has been furnished in a nautical cottage style with comfortable furniture and fresh decor. The downstairs has many original features including stripped wooden floorboards, high ceilings and large windows which allow the natural sunlight to flood into the rooms giving them a welcoming spacious feel. The large fully equipped kitchen with whitewashed dining table is the perfect place for cooking up a feast and entertaining friends and family after a busy day at the beach. A special feature of this cottage is the fireplace in the lounge, the ideal place to curl up on the sofa with a book and a cup of cocoa on colder days! An enclosed staircase leads from the lounge up to three bedrooms as well as the fully equipped family bathroom.

The cottage's courtyard garden has been thoughtfully designed, with a mature grapevine over a wooden trellis above the picnic table offering perfect shelter from the sun on those long summer days; making this the perfect place for al fresco dining, pretty pots planted with cottage garden plants finish the courtyard off beautifully.

Coastguards Cottage Holiday Accommodation

You approach the cottage through the pretty courtyard. The entrance door leads into the spacious utility room complete with dishwasher, washer/dryer, freezer and microwave oven. There is plenty of room for shoes and boots as well as hooks for coats and jackets. A wet room leads from the utility room and has a shower and WC.

The spacious kitchen and dining area also leads from the utility room and is fully equipped with appliances including Halogen hob, electric oven, extractor fan, fridge and wine cooler. A dining room table with 6 chairs is the perfect place to entertain family and friends after a day sightseeing.

The lounge, overlooking the tennis courts and bay has been stylishly decorated with stripped wooden flooring, 2 comfortable sofas, side tables and lamps and has a fully working open fireplace making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day. A flat screen TV and DVD player are provided.

An enclosed staircase leads from the lounge to the first floor where there are 2 bedrooms and the family bathroom.

The family bathroom has wash hand basin, WC and a beautiful ball and claw bath, adding a touch of luxury, and also benefits from a separate shower cubicle and has an attractive pebble floor.

The master bedroom has a 4 poster bed with white muslin drapes, crisp bed linen. and is finished off beautifully with plump cushions. Bedside tables with lamps as well as the stunning sea views give the room a romantic feel. The 'lookout' with uninterrupted views of the coastline is situated through a door where binoculars have been provided for your use, the perfect place to watch passing ships on the horizon. A fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers offer plenty of storage space during your stay.

Bedroom 2 is also on the first floor and has a 5' zip and link bed that can also be made up as a twin. A door leads from this room to a further staircase up to a loft style single bedroom complete with 2'6" bed more suited for child or young adult use.. Bedside table and 'lighthouse' lamp add to the fun of this room, a velux window offers yet more views of the bay.

The cottage has gas central heating and a fully working open fireplace in the lounge.

There is space for 2 cars on a private drive adjacent to the cottage.

This Kent holiday cottage is situated in the heart of the Kent town, Whitstable. Whitstable is renowned for its trendy shops and art galleries for you to enjoy whilst you stay in this luxurious Kent holiday cottage, but above all its oysters! There are a large selection of pubs and bars on the Whitstable sea front taking full advantage of the very English mix of sailing, fishing boats and visitors enjoying the Kentish scene. The pretty Kent town of Whitstable is steeped in history and the pastel shades of the cottages all along the coast and the multi coloured beach huts make this one of the most sought after holiday destinations on the coast in Kent.

Whitstable celebrates is historic maritime heritage each year with a Regatta, Carnival and the Whitstable Oyster Festival. In 1170 Archbishop Thomas Beckett was famously murdered in the Cathedral and thousands of Pilgrims play homage each year. The holiday apartment is 100 yards from the Cathedral Gates! The ancient ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church all form part of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby are the remains of a Norman Castle built on 1080 by the Normans and the large stone keep was largely constructed in the reign of Henry1 (1100-1135) all are reminders of the City's history, heritage & culture. Other attractions include, The King's mile, St Dunstan's, West Gate Towers, Northgate and The Canterbury Tales. You can take one of the River Tours and absorb the City with a boat trip along the River Stour taking in the architecture and scenic views. There are museums, walking trails or guided walks to help you enjoy the narrow winding lanes. Canterbury is best explored by foot. Canterbury is a place steeped in tradition and is also a modern and vibrant city with welcoming bars, pubs, nightclubs, fine restaurants, and a High Street with independent and high street names. Kent County Cricket ground is 1 mile distance from the holiday apartment and holds it's annual Cricket Festival every August. Canterbury Golf Course is 1 mile distance from the City Centre and was designed by Henry Colt ain 1927 at the same time as designing Wentworth. There are two famous "links" courses at nearby Sandwich, Royal St Georges (home to The Open Championship in 2011) and Princes (Open Golf qualifying course).
