Canterbury is a medieval city which is surrounded by the original city walls. There is also the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway which is a miniature steam railway which can take you down to the beach at Dymchurch - both children and adults love it!
Sandwich is quite an enchanting town with winding period streets and beautifully preserved historic houses from the Medieval, Tudor and Georgian times. Sandwich is one of the Cinque Ports and was once surrounded by sea on three sides. Over many years the river silted up and the large ships were replaced by the smaller boats found on the river today.
