Holiday Cottage in West Studdal, Kent Sleeps 22 + 8
These beautifully converted Kent self catering barns are in the grounds of a country house surrounded by rolling countryside. This large holiday accommodation would be ideal for a family get together or for a special occasion with the use of a stunning indoor heated swimming pool all year round - ideal for entertaining the kids! Just finished to the highest standard the four barns have lovely views and a wonderful mix of contemporary and traditional furniture to complete the scene - what more could you want?
These lovely holiday barns are set in a wonderfully rural setting surrounded by the beautiful Kent countryside with walks and bridle paths for all to use. A particular feature is the shared use of a stunning indoor heated swimming pool complex with pool, hot tub, seating area and shower - a wonderful spot to while away a relaxing hour or two after a spot of sightseeing! The owners have thought of everything inside the cottages with luxurious furnishings giving a real feel of comfort and cosiness to your stay. The cottages are named after the famous Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, with each one taking one of the pilgrim's names - why not visit the Canterbury Tales interactive experience in the city itself during your stay? Outside there is a private seating area for each of the four cottages, lots of parking for all and lovely glimpses through the trees of the surrounding farmland. All in all this would make a wonderful base from which to explore Kent and all it has to offer.
There are four cottages in the complex. Three of the cottages sleep 8 and the fourth cottage sleeps 6. In the larger cottages, The Squire and The Franklin are entered through French doors into the living room with The Miller entered through a cottage door into the living area. The seating area has 2 sofas (one is a sofabed to sleep 2) grouped around the log burner, 42" wide screen TV/DVD/freeview, Ninetendo Wii, wi fi broadband with attractive light oak flooring, exposed beams and a cosy feel. The dining area can seat 6-8. Each Kitchen has washing machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and ceramic hob, extractor fan.
The under floor heating throughout the barns is via an environmentally friendly biomass system using locally sourced renewable energy.
The three bedroom cottages, The Miller, The Squire and The Franklin have a master bedroom with double bed, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobes and an ensuite shower room with shower, wc, heated towel rail and basin. Bedroom 2 is a double room with 2 twin beds, wardrobe, bedside table and lamps and Bedroom 3 has two single beds (one pulls out from under the other). The family bathroom has bath, large walk in shower with hand held shower and overhead shower, heated towel rail, basin and wc.
In the smaller cottage, The Knight, the master bedroom has a double bed, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe, bedroom 2 is a twin bedroom with twin single beds, wardrobe, bedside table and lamps. There is a family bathroom with bath with overhead shower, wc and basin.
Outside, there is a seating area by each holiday cottage with bbq. There is ample parking for several cars and the indoor heated swimming pool complex is a short walk away and is shared with the main house.
Pilgrims Nook holiday cottages are in truly lovely Kent countryside with lots to see and do. The trendy seaside town of Deal is close by with its pier, eclectic boutiques, renowned cupcake shop and fresh fish direct from the beach.
Kent has more castles than any other county so there are lots to explore with the newly refurbished Dover Castle a must - not only does it have one of the largest keeps in the country but the fascinating second world war rooms built into the white cliffs make this a 'must do' attraction. For an altogether more homely feel why not visit the beautiful Walmer Castle and Gardens, the home of the Queen Mother for many years. The wonderful gardens of Goodnestone House are within a few miles, renowned for its parkland setting and stunning walled flower garden - a plants man's dream!
For golfers, there are several excellent links courses, including Royal St Georges at Sandwich and Royal Cinque Ports at Deal, both of which are close by.
The nature reserve at Pegwell Bay, famous for its wildlife is also worth a visit with the lovely sandy beaches of Botany, Westbrook and Joss Bays (all blue flag beaches) are great for a family day out.
For shopping, the outlet centre at de Bradleigh Wharf in Dover Marina is well worth a visit.gn exciting initiative to grow large numbers of critically .
