The winding village high street leads up to St Mary's Church which dates back to the 12th century and Henry I, and overlooks antique shops, tearooms, restaurants and pubs.
The village is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside with The Oast situated down in the valley, a little less than 2 miles away and next to Finchcocks, a fine Georgian manor house, now well known as a Music Museum and where it is even possible to play some of the beautiful antique instruments. The white cowls of Finchcocks Oast and the Music Museum are clearly visible in the distance as you head downhill out of Goudhurst. There is also a renowned gastro pub within walking distance of The Oast.
This area of Kent is renowned for its vineyards, several of which are open to the public for tours and visits, and even the odd tasting as well. There are many things to do in the area from visiting the National Trust's fairytale castle at nearby Scotney Castle or the wonderful gardens of Sissinghurst Castle, to exploring nearby Bedgebury Pinetum, with its extensive walks, visitor centre and world renowned conifer collection. For the more adventurous, Bedgebury also offers challenging mountain-bike trails, and Go-Ape, the exciting zip line and treetop walk experience. Bewl Water, also within a few miles, offers cycling, power boating, water sports, and hydroballing and more, or choose to bike or walk the 13 mile track that laps this family-friendly reservoir.ow large numbers of critically .

We were extremely happy with the house and the service around it.
Property was outstanding , do not think your photos did it justice, the property was finished to a very high standard and would book this accommodation again at the drop of a hat.
We had an amazing time at Finchcocks Oast - The Kilns and would thoroughly recommend it.
We especially appreciated prompt assistance at the property from the caretaker next to site.
The property was amazing!!!
Everything was very efficient. Keep up the good work!
A great place to stay! We were a group of four families together for the Jubilee weekend and were the first guests to stay in this beautiful spacious property and it was amazing. It has been done out to a very high standard. The beds are so comfortable with lovely bedding, relaxing furniture in the living areas and a very well equipped kitchen. The entertainment facilities are great - the pool, the table tennis table (great for wet weather), sky TV, tennis court - all helped to entertain the children while the adults relaxed on the lovely decking. An abundance of leaflets on what to do in the area was greatly appreciated. We all concluded that this was the best place we have ever stayed in over the many years of holidaying together. It's not easy to find a place big enough for four families.
