A large pond with bridge and island, complete with rowing boat makes this an extremely sought after place to stay. This self-catering holiday cottage in Kent would be a perfect base for those wishing to explore the rolling Kent countryside; either the idyllic villages that surround this area or the ancient towns such as Royal Tunbridge Wells or Canterbury. The quaint town of Headcorn is a short 10 minute drive away where you can catch a train to London in less than an hour.

You approach The Hideaway through a wooden gate and along a sweeping gravel driveway which is surrounded on all sides by glorious open farmland.
You enter the cottage through a porch area where there is plenty of space to store boots and shoes.
A downstairs cloakroom is to the left hand side and a small utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The pretty cottage kitchen to the right hand side has been stylishly finished with whitewashed kitchen units and co-ordinating worktops. There is a gas oven, hob, extractor fan, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A pine dresser offers plenty of storage for the pretty glassware that the owner has provided.
A door leads into the family room. Decorated in calming shades of green and lemon and surrounded by large bay windows with views of the garden and flower meadow make this the ideal place to sit with a book and relax. There is a woodburning stove and 2 comfortable leather chairs giving the room a cosy feel during the colder months.
To the right is the conservatory with a large round wooden table comfortably seating seven. Stunning views of the surrounding farmland and garden make this the ideal place to sit and enjoy a feast with family and friends.
The lounge area has been stylishly furnished with comfortable sofa, tub chairs and a beautiful chaise lounge. Large bay windows overlooking the lake bathe the room in natural sunlight. Plump cushions and modern lamps as well as unusual pieces of artwork finish the room off perfectly.
You walk through the lounge and into an office area with desk and bookcases filled with an abundance of books for your perusal. A welcome pack and visitors book has been provided to encourage guests to leave comments.
Stairs to the first floor lead from this room. A beautiful mural has been painted by the owner along the staircase adding to the uniqueness of the property.
The master bedroom has a Kingsize double bed dressed with organic cotton duvet in calming shades of green, bedside tables and lamps as well as green silk curtains at the windows give the room a romantic feel. Fitted double wardrobes offer plenty of storage during your stay.
Bedroom 2 has a kingsize double bed dressed once again in organic cotton bed linen in pretty shades of blue, this room overlooks the open countryside to the rear of the property, the perfect place to wake up and enjoy a cup of tea whilst admiring your surroundings.
There are 2 further bedrooms both with single beds, chest of drawers and bedside lamps.
The family bathroom is fully equipped with bath and shower over, wash hand basin and WC. A heated towel rails ensures that your towels are always warm when you step out of the shower. The owner has provided organic cotton towels and even REN cosmetics for use during your stay.
The cottage is totally private and surrounded by 2 acres of picturesque garden with lots of comfortable al fresco seating areas to enjoy different views across the countryside and making the most of the amazing sunsets across the surrounding farmland. There is a circular seating area surrounding a firepit, the owner has provided sheepskin rugs and throws to cuddle under on the cooler English evenings.
There is a children's play area with swings, climbing frame and trampoline as well as a play house for the little ones to enjoy.
The Hideaway is situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Ulcombe in Kent. Those wishing to holiday in this area will have plenty of things to keep them occupied during their self-catering vacation.
The Hideaway would be perfect for garden enthusiasts. The gardens of Godinton House are nearby; this is a superb ancient Jacobean house with medieval hall surrounded by twelve acres of restored gardens - even a tea room for your perfect day out in the country. For other lovely gardens in the area, this Kent house is close to Sissinghurst Castle garden, Stoneacre in Otham and Belmont Place near Faversham. Kent is famous for its wonderful gardens, living up to its name as The Garden of England.
Leeds Castle is just a few miles from The Hideaway and is one of the most beautiful castles in Britain. With a moated castle, spacious grounds and even a maze there is plenty to keep everyone amused for a whole day out. For those who like excitement Leeds Castle also has a Go Ape attraction which is a high wire climbing adventure through the treetops.
The Pepper Box is a lovely rural country pub in Ulcombe which dates from 1606. With a large garden and an excellent restaurant, serving delicious home cooked food and serving fine ales. It is possible to walk here from your Kent self-catering cottage, which is always an advantage especially with the driver!
For those wishing to make a day trip to France, Kent offers both the Eurostar Train at Ashford and the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone which will transport you to a French location in 30 minutes - just don't forget to pack your passport!
For golfers this area has many options, there are lovely courses at Leeds Castle, Eastwell Manor, Chart Hills at Biddenden and further afield the links courses on the Kent coast.
