This pretty self-catering holiday accommodation is in a truly wonderful position, set in the grounds of an historic Queen Anne House, in its own private garden and surrounded by fields with far reaching views in all directions. South facing, all the rooms are sunny and light and have spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
The property has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is in immaculate condition throughout with many original features giving much charm to the property.

The kitchen area, electric AGA, microwave oven, dishwasher and American fridge freezer. A fold out table that comfortably seats 4. A door leads from the kitchen on to parking area plus another door to rear pond view terrace.
The sitting area, comfortable sofas and chairs to seat 4, woodburning stove, occasional tables, flatscreen TV, DVD player, Sky package, ipod dock, incoming telephone.
Utility cupboard is located in the hall, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
The bathroom has a bath, double sized shower, hand basin, WC and electric towel rail.

1 x Double bedroom (sleeps 2) hanging space, full-length mirror, flatscreen TV and an ipod docking system.

The Kent village where this holiday home is situated is on the very edge of Romney Marsh which has wonderful walks over the Marshes, woods and along the historic Royal Military Canal. The property itself is on a private farm, with its own old traditional orchard and private wood land, full of bluebells and wild orchids in spring. The renowned Saxon Shore Line Walk is within 200 metres of this self-catering holiday home in Kent.
Why not take advantage of the direct access to this private land and woods surrounding the property, the ideal place to walk off your Christmas dinner or, on a spring or summer break, perhaps take a picnic hamper filled with locally produced goods and wine or champagne from the Chapel Down vineyard that the owner has supplied and lay back underneath the trees and take in the smells and sounds of the glorious Kentish countryside.
Hamstreet, the nearest neighbouring village (4 minutes drive) offers the local village shop, newsagents who will deliver newspapers, including foreign newspapers, a family-run Indian restaurant as well as a family-run pub, which also offers take-away fish and chips. If you fancy exploring the Kent countryside by bike, the local bicycle shop hires adults' and children's bikes and offers a repair service.
Hamstreet is situated approximately 8 miles from Ashford International and is ideal for the more adventurous amongst us who would like to go a little further afield whilst on holiday. The mainline station in the village takes you to Ashford within minutes where you can jump on the high speed line and be in London in 37 minutes. There are also excellent road links to the M20 (within 15 minutes) and the coast.
The renowned smugglers' town of Rye, in neighbouring East Sussex, is within fifteen minutes, either by car or by train, with its winding narrow streets, antique shops and restaurants and the picturesque market town of Tenterden is within 10 minutes' drive.
The wonderful sandy beaches of this part of Kent are nearby and for the more adventurous types there are numerous water sports available. There are also several well-known Kent houses and gardens to visit within easy reach, including Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Penshurst Place, Smallhythe Place, Godinton House and Gardens, Goodnestone Park and Leeds Castle.
To the north is the historic cathedral city of Canterbury and Port Lympne Animal Park, together with the renowned Rare Breeds Centre are within a few miles and well worth a visit during your stay. For more ideas on places to visit please look at our 'things to do' section on the website.
The owner is dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible and is happy to stock your fridge using local produce including organic meat from the local farmer and butcher who can also supply fresh eggs and various different produce depending on the season. A luxurious picnic hamper can be provided; what more could you want as a truly relaxing break away from home with no pressures of everyday life, not even the cooking!We booked Leacon Hall Lodge in May 2013. The lodge is lovely, and the owner and her staff had taken excellent care of everything; you can tell they aim to please. We would love to come back someday!
