You approach the house along a gravel driveway with plenty of off road parking. A gate leads you to a terraced garden area that overlooks the pond and has plenty of seating for you to sit and enjoy the wonderful sound of running water from the weir and admire the abundance of wildlife on the water.
An original period door opens onto a spacious hallway. The kitchen is to the right and has exposed stonework walls and beams throughout. A fully working aga is the centrepiece of the room and the characterful country style cream units and wooden worktops are very much in keeping with style of the cottage. There is a breakfast bar with stalls and a small wooden table seating a further 4 people to one side of the kitchen. An archway leads through to a large utility room with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and tumble dryer.
Bach through to the hallway and another door leads to a fully fitted bathroom with ball and claw bath and shower over, wash hand basin and WC. Fluffy cotton towels have been provided for use during your stay.
A downstairs bedroom also leads from the hallway and has been beautifully furnished with Queen Anne style double bed dressed with crisp cotton bed linen, complimentary bedside tables and stylish lamps finish the room off perfectly. A fitted double wardrobe provides ample storage.
The lounge area is a spacious and light double aspect room with original sash windows that overlook the pond area. The décor is stylish with comfortable leather and cotton sofas and chairs and surrounds an inglenook fireplace. A large refectory table with cathedral chairs seating 10 is situated to one side of the room and makes the perfect place to sit and enjoy a family meal.
Wide polished oak stairs lead from the hallway to the first floor where there are 3 further bedrooms. The master bedroom has a kingsize mahogany sleigh bed dressed with luxury quality cotton bed linen and finished off with colourful throws and cushions. This double aspect room has amazing views of weir pond, where you can spend hours watching from the chaise longue and listen to the sights and sounds of the local surroundings. Mahogany chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps finish the room off perfectly.
The second bedroom on this floor has twin beds and is dressed with fresh cotton bed linen. The room has been decorated in calming shades of blue and is complimented perfectly with handmade curtains made by the castle seamstress. There is a chest of drawers and bedside tables with lamps.
The third bedroom is a double room with antique walnut bed dressed in colourful bed linen with antique style bedside tables and lamps. There is a fitted wardrobe offering plenty of storage during your stay.
The family bathroom is also on the first floor and has a bath with shower over, wash hand basin and WC. Cotton towels have been provided for use during your stay.
A staircase leads to the second floor where there is a further triple bedroom with 3 single beds, the perfect place for children to enjoy a sleepover. A TV with DVD player has been provided for use during your stay. There is a fitted wardrobe offering plentiful storage.
There is a pretty cottage terrace garden with various different places to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this very special property. Lots of mature flowers and shrubs surround the garden and give off a wonderful cottage garden aroma, the weeping willow tree offers some shade from the hot summer sun if you prefer to sit in the shade. The garden overlooks the weir pond where you will see an abundance of wildlife roaming around including Woodpeckers, rabbits and foxes, not to mention the huge amount of birdlife that lives on the pond. There is a paved terrace area with garden table, chairs and parasol as well as a BBQ, the ideal place to cook up a summer feast.Leeds Castle is just a few miles from the Kentish town of Maidstone and has been quoted as "the loveliest castle in the world". Set within 500 acres of stunning parkland and with a host of things to do you would be hard pressed to find a more magical place to stay. With a moated castle, spacious grounds and even a maze there is plenty to keep everyone amused for a whole day out.
For those who like excitement Leeds Castle also has a Go Ape attraction which is a high wire climbing adventure through the treetops. Take to the trees and speed down the zip lines, enjoy the rope bridges, Tarzan swings and crossings all set high above the forest floor.
Why not have a go at a Segway Tour and take in the sights and sounds of the castle not usually seen by visitors on foot, the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Perhaps finish off your tour by having a cream tea in the Fairfax Hall the converted barn restaurant within the grounds.

This experience will be offered for the first time during 2012, be one of the first to take part in this new exhilarating experience.
For those wishing to make a day trip to France, Kent offers both the Eurostar Train at Ashford and the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone which will transport you to a French location in 30 minutes - just don't forget to pack your passport! And with London being less than an hour's drive from the doorstep you are ideally placed for exploring the South East.
