Make sure your guests wake up on the right side of the bed! Remember that guests will spend a lot of the time tucked up and sleeping, so making sure they have a peaceful and comfortable night’s sleep is key to giving them a wonderful stay. Here are some tips for brilliant bedding:
Invest in Quality
Avoid aches, pains and disrupted sleep with a good quality mattress. It is well worth investing in a great mattress approximately every 8 years, you don’t appreciate a lumpy, stained mattress so neither do your guests! Give them a reason to enjoy relaxing and stay in bed longer.
This goes for pillows, duvets and sheets too. Pillows should be plump, duvets and sheets soft and preferably cotton. Remember quality lasts and will be appreciated by guests.
Keep it Clean
Pillows and mattress protectors are a must. And these must also be cleaned and washed with the bedding. Try to avoid the waterproof or ‘scratchy’ kind as these can be uncomfortable for guests. If you use a decorative bed throw, this should be easily washable or dry-cleaned regularly.
Crisp colours such as white or cream look good and match any decór. Remember you will need at least two sets of bedding for changeover, one on whilst the other is being washed.
If you can spare the room of course, the bigger the bed the happier the guest! King size beds have become a very desirable feature for guests. Zip and link beds and futons are of course useful when you do need to save on space or broaden your market to attract both families and couples.
