The Apple House is an award-winning built property, designed to be similar to the apple barn that once stood on the site. It has been created with wood cladding and black corrugated steel, a perfect blend of 'Grand Designs' appearance and warm old fashioned comfort.
"An Instagram heaven of boho-chic fabrics and antique furnishings."
The furniture was collected from years of visiting Salisbury Auctions and picked up at various furniture emporiums. The original brick floor is softened by geometric rugs, while battered leather armchairs are made cosy with Moroccan cushions and Indian throws.
In clearing the area ready for the build, they had to fell a huge oak tree which broke the owners heart but she managed to use large pieces of wood in the kitchen, one huge beech slab became the kitchen island surface.
Everywhere you look there's something of interest: a floor-to-ceiling dresser of mismatched crockery, vintage signs in the utility room, and a deep-blue hallway with rustic garden furniture and sprawling plants.
The utility room features a Victorian glazed sink, shallow and wide which the owner found in a reclamation yard.
The four poster bed was made by the carpenter who created the kitchen units; with the linen and mattresses being purchased from Soak and Sleep.
