A big week for Hastings

The huge annual event is coming – with loads of events taking place, culminating with the Hastings Bonfire Celebrations. It is all happening on the south coast.

The spectacular torchlit procession (with participants in wonderful costumes) takes place on Saturday, 19th October, starting at The Stade at 7:15. There will be bonfire and fireworks (at 9pm) to commemorate the Battle of Hastings, as well as the traditional gunpowder plot.

The procession ends up at the beach!

Hastings celebrates the foiling of the gunpowder plot of 1605 and holds their event to coincide with Hastings Week.

To take full advantage of this event, come and stay in one of our cottages… Further Down Cottage is just 5 miles down the road from Hastings and is absolutely adorable, sleeping 4 comfortably. It is beautifully decorated in pale colours, a really charming interior with iron bedsteads to take you back in time.

So relaxing..
