A new owner for Pooh’s country house?

Our Sussex Office was awash with excitement today as the news reached us that the famous Cotchford Farm is up for sale for the first time in over 40 years… Not familiar with the farm?

Does this give you a clue?

Christopher Robin’s childhood home was bought by the author of Winnie the Pooh in 1945 and the house and surrounding area features as the magical backdrop for the adventures of Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and all the others. Further to this, Cotchford Farm is the place where Rolling Stones member, Brian Jones died almost 45 years later.

Dated around 1600 and Grade II listed, Cotchford Farm in on the market for around two million pounds…. am I alone in thinking that this would be a great holiday home??!

Cotchford Farm, A.A. Milne's childhood home and the birthplace of Pooh and Co.

Hartfield itself is well worth a visit (not only because Mulberry Cottages have their Sussex office there- come and visit us!) but because it has so much to do.. Surrounded by amazing countryside and the remarkable Ashdown Forest (inspiration for the 100 acre wood)- Hartfield remains completely untouched by modern day life, giving you a great hideaway less than an hour from the M25! Why not visit for yourself and see what we mean with a stay at the charming Red House, right in the heart of the village.

I think Pooh would have felt right at home here!

This gorgeous double fronted country house is set in mature gardens  and comes complete with a swimming pool, library and baby grand piano!

Why not take a lap of the pool to start the day? The Red House can be your own little piece of tranquility!

The Red House sleeps 10+2 and is available starting at just £17 per person per night!
