Nestled in the most picturesque secluded courtyard you will find Age & Sons, a family-run restaurant, café and bar situated in Ramsgate, on the beautiful east coast of Kent.
Age and Sons serve the best of great British seasonal food, fine wines and cocktails in a charming Victorian warehouse set within a minute of the sea.
Age and Sons is entered by walking through a beautiful courtyard and the restaurant is set over two floors in the Victorian warehouse, with original wooden beams and whitewashed walls giving the restaurant a really fresh and airy feeling.
We had a delicious meal prepared by one of the UK’s most talented emergent young chefs, Toby Leigh. Age and Sons locally-source produce and buy fruit and veg from nearby allotments, get fish straight off the boats bobbing in the harbour, and pay local foragers to seek out earthly delights from the surrounding coastline and countryside.
My family and I were treated to a very special tasting menu which was superb! We enjoyed 5 delicious courses made up of a parsley soup, a strawberry & wild fennel risotto with gremolata, which was my absolute favourite, a cucumber sorbet, we then continued to enjoy turbot with samphire and a Dexter Fillet steak with thrice cooked chips, watercress & horseradish.
All in all – totally delicious and 110% recommended!
