Antique, Shabby Chic, Retro shopping – Hastings has it all!

The thought of Christmas makes me feel excited, but like most people, also a tad exhausted. So what we need is a lovely peaceful weekend or week-long break to look forward to in the new year. Having fun with friends, a little browsing, a little shopping, afternoon tea… a trip to Hastings to rummage through the fabulous array of antique shops is what we need to plan. (Or sneak in a trip before Christmas – Hastings is an excellent place for last-minute gifts)

Take Courage Blog by Cat has some lovely information about where to browse – see her gorgeous photos:

A G Hendy Home Store is an amazing place for buying homewares. They even have a lovely restaurant – lunch followed by a wonderful walk on the beach would be perfect!

If anyone else feels like this we have just the place… a cluster of cottages within 15 minutes’ drive in beautiful Sussex countryside, just an hour and a half from London, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of city life.

There’s so much to choose from – cottages in Hastings, Battle and 1066 Country and cottages in Sussex.

Whether you are looking to book a short break now or in the new year, Mulberry Cottages will have something for you. It’s a great time to book ahead for half-term and Easter cottages, too!
