Christmas at Camber Sands

It’s a fact, Christmas is just 7 weeks away! The last thing you want to think about are the Christmas holidays but… best to be prepared and ensure that you will have a truly memorable time with family and friends.  By choosing a holiday cottage in a great location for Christmas, means everyone can take a little responsibility – it doesn’t all have to be on one person’s shoulders.

You could have a lovely time in The White House, with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms it accommodates two families perfectly, whether it is friends or grandparents, giving everyone the chance to have fun and spend time together.

Situated at Camber, a few minutes’ walk from miles of sandy beach, there is the possibility of having lovely walks and games of cricket if the weather allows.  You will certainly have a lot of fun flying kites!  The simple game children play, running towards to the sea and racing back before the sea touches their wellington boots is a fun activity on a winter morning.  Collect a few shells, and then perhaps stop for a coffee in the historic town of Rye.   With its cobbled streets and great array of café’s, restaurants and antique shops, it is a great place to explore.   You can even buy fresh fish from the harbour.

Another lovely self catering cottage in Camber is Hakuna Matata. This stylish 4-star seaside holiday cottage in a prime location, a short walk from miles of wonderful sandy beaches and dunes, ideal for a wonderful Christmas holiday.

Why does it take going on holiday to have a mammoth game of Monopoly, or a great game of Scrabble – it’s just something we don’t do at home!  So much fun and children absolutely love it, much better than watching the telly. There is plenty of room for board games in the stylish sitting room, a glass of  wine perhaps and the dictionary at hand for those who think they know extra words that are not actually in the dictionary!

Another gorgeous property in Camber is White Haven, perfect for Christmas as sleeps four in 2 bedrooms.

The owners have provided a large range of indoor games plus a media centre complete with a huge selection of films to watch, you will be spoilt for choice. You can also use the USB connection to view your own photos of the day on the large TV screen.  There’s a downstairs store room for those brave enough to bring wet suits and surf boards for some Christmas outdoor activity!

There’s lots ot do in the area, have a look at our Things to Do section of the website.  Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a great place to visit in the winter, with lots of wildlife, don’t forget to pack your binoculars.

With such pretty countryside surrounding the cottage, what could be better than to dress up warmly, wellies on and head off for a country walk on Boxing Day?  It makes us all feel so much better and surprisingly ready for finishing off the turkey!

It is such a treat going away for Christmas, where everyone can be together, all these cottages are pet friendly which means the world at Christmas as you would not be without that very special member of the family!
