Christmas at the beach – still time to book!

Ok – we don’t have the same weather as Australia, but there’s no reason why we shouldn’t celebrate Christmas by the beach.  You may not want to picnic but what better way to walk off the excesses of the feast than wrapping up warm in your new scarf (and Christmas jumper!) and enjoying the miles of sand and surf which will be mostly deserted at this time of year. We have a few lovely cottages still available for Christmas, it really is a beautiful part of the country and such a great location for a memorable Festive break. There is still time to book!

Riding at Camber

Riding at Camber

There’s nothing quite like waking up to a wonderful crisp sunny morning, perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet.
You will love the medieval town of Rye with its cobbled streets and quaint shops and cafes only 3 miles away and has lots of entertainment planned. Rye at Christmas is so much fun – from craft classes to singingalong with Sinatra, there is something for everyone!

Added to this there are art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and pubs run by very friendly locals to make your Christmas holiday even better.
If you like a bit of fresh air at this time of year, there is an excellent Circular route which begins and ends at Rye Harbour car park, it is 5.7mile and takes 2-3hrs, depending on stops and fitness. It is classed as ‘Easy’ as on flat paths and a little rough ground, you can even bike it or take a pushchair!

Look out for the RNLI Station at the harbour, there are bird hides along the route for viewing the great bird life, so many at this time of year.

Fishing boats come in and out of Rye Harbour

There is always activity with fishing boats coming back from the sea and some interesting buildings along the way, including old railway carriages which have been converted into homes.
The nearby marshlands of Romney Marsh are also ideal for long county walks, bike rides, painting and bird watching.
Camber village itself has a couple of nice restaurants including The Gallivant Bistro and Bar. The Dunes Bar and the Ray Bay Cafe. The local pub, The Green Owl, also offers food, a selection of well-kept ales and welcomes dogs.

There are some fabulous holiday properties in the area, with Camber Sands close by.

The White House near miles of sandy beach

Doubloons – perfect for Christmas

Doubloons is also available and sleeps 6, a gorgeous holiday cottage – a great Christmas location. Just put Camber into our Search box and you will be pleasantly surprised!
