Candle Cottage offers you the chance to retreat to a bygone era. Built with the local ‘hamstone’, the quaint cottage dates back from the 15th century and you will become part of the history lesson. Families will be able to relax in front of an open fire after days spent on foot exploring the local National Trust properties, and many other local walks which extend from the village.

We are calling this a ‘retrovation’ as this house has literally been taken back in time! The 80’s style bathroom and flooring were removed and replaced with, painstakingly sourced, vintage floorboards, floor tiles and historic bathroom fittings – including a beautiful Victorian WC.
