So the snow has (more or less) cleared and school children everywhere have no further hope of a couple of days off ‘snowed in’ with their Nintendo, thoughts naturally turn to the wondrous week that is half term. For the young, the week represents a shining beacon of sleeping in, staying up a bit later at night and doing all the magical playtime things that Maths and English deprives them of. For parent’s however, there is usually a different sort of reaction…
Here at Mulberry Cottages, we feel your pain and have been scouring high and low for the best and most pain free activities for children this half term.
- For lovers of nature (or those who just like to get muddy!) there is a brilliant and inexpensive discovery day taking place every day during half term at Wakehurst Place, where families can make their own eye spy device together before heading out into the great outdoors to explore the grounds and find the hidden nature all around them! They can then learn about all that they’ve discovered later at Wakehurst’s gorgeous 16th Century Manor house and even add the finds to their own mobile to take home! The half term activities cost just £2 per child and guarantees an enjoyable afternoon in beautiful, natural surroundings.
