We all love the sea, listening to the waves rolling up the beach, swooping seagulls and that lovely fresh sea air! Ramsgate is a fabulous quintessentially English seaside town, there is nothing like it in the rest of the world.  There are plenty of seaside attractions, including fishing and water sports, to be enjoyed whilst staying in Ramsgate cottages.

For sport enthusiasts, there are also many golf courses, including championship courses at Sandwich and Deal, all within easy reach of cottages in Ramsgate, perfect for group accommodation. Horse riding and cycling can be found a little inland which are great activities for groups.  And for those who love to practice their French, day trips to France and Belgium are available from the new port facilities at Ramsgate.

There are many town attractions within easy distance of cottages in Ramsgate. If you love the theatre, Margate’s Theatre Royal is the second oldest working theatre in the country.   For groups  interested in art, The Turner Contemporary in Margate is one great reason for visiting the area.  Group accommodation in Ramsgate is also close to many local museums. There is the Maritime Museum in Ramsgate, the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum at Manston, the Dickens House Museum in Broadstairs and the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington.

Steeped in history, Ramsgate is famous for the World War II tunnels which can be explored along with Ramsgate Maritime Museum situated on the quayside at Ramsgate Harbour.  Other museums in the area include the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum at Manston, the Dickens House Museum in Broadstairs and the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington – quite fascinating!  If you love to eat out, Ramsgate Marina has some really good restaurants and bars, lovely cafes for a coffee stop too!

The Westcliffe Leisure Park and Strokes Adventure Golf are located in Westcliffe and the Shell Grotto is in Margate.  Jungle Jim’s play barn is also located in Margate, great fun for littlies.
