The 12 bedroom home offers a glorious formal dining room for those very special candlelit Christmas meals, a sumptuous drawing room for pre lunch drinks and opening of Christmas presents and a library brimming with books for a little bit of quiet time over the festive period.

An amazing location

Goodnestone Park, is like no other house on earth, it’s been carefully and beautifully renovated with new plumbing and electrics from top to bottom.  It has a brand new bio mass boiler, keeping the huge house at an ambient 20 degrees throughout the year.

The interior design is out of this world, the use of stunning fabrics and furnishings; original antique furniture and historic paintings create a chance to step back into 18th century rural England.

The house is stocked with the best linen, a huge selection of glasses of every shape and size, the wine cooler is larger than most people’s fridges and the kitchen is perfect for a visiting chef.

If the weather is clement, guests can participate in quintessential English activities such as a spot of croquet in the garden.

Clay pigeon shooting and horseback riding can be organised or guests can take themselves off for lovely long walks through the estate at any time of day.  Not forgetting the restored Serpentine Walk, which Jane Austen was said to frequent while visiting her brother who married one of the daughters of the household.  This walk has been restored and winds through the surrounding woodland.

The village church can be reached by a short walk through the gardens – quite idyllic.

We all know Christmas is such an important time of year for getting family together and having good times, a bit of relaxation, a bit of sitting around and catching up, and Goodnestone Park would be the ultimate location for this very special time of year.

No worries about Father Christmas visiting, there are plenty of chimneys and it’s almost visible from Space.
