Have you heard about Dreamland?

It was 11 years ago when a group of dedicated people got together to save Dreamland.  When plans were put forward to build houses on the spot where Dreamland stood, the passion of the people ran high.  Dreamland must be saved!  With the support of the Thanet council, plans were put forward and work began in 2014.  It’s very exciting that the opening of this wonderful amusement park will be on the 19th June, giving Margate another great attraction.

Described as the heartbeat of Margate, Dreamland was one of the UK’s best-loved amusement parks and at one time listed within the UK’s top ten visitor attractions.

Comprising 16-acres, the park included a zoo, miniature railway, 2,200- seat purpose built Cinema, cafés, restaurants, bars, retail and a 2,000-capacity ballroom playing host to The Who, The Yardbirds, the Rolling Stones, T. Rex and Hawkwind to name but a few…

So come and stay near this wonderful seaside town, be one of the first to ride the Scenic Railway, explore the Pleasure Park, and taste the wonderful local Kentish fare.  As the Dreamland website states: ‘There’ll be more than just brilliant retro rides and amusements. Dreamland will be a world where vintage cool holds hands with modern design, and goes for a lovely beachside stroll.’
