Despite the extensive and varied skillset in the Mulberry Office (speed tea drinking, touch typing and cultivating a delightful telephone manner being just some of them!), none of us can truthfully say that music is our forte… luckily enough though, this is not what can be said for all of us and we joined with the whole of East Sussex in congratulating Laura Van Der Heijden as the winner of the BBC young musician of the year awards last month- a local girl who studies in East Grinstead and who plays the Cello like nothing I’ve ever seen!
Brought up as the youngest child of a Dutch father and a Swiss mother, Laura only started playing the Cello in 2008 but has won a variety of accolades culminating in last nights triumph which left the feeling ‘so, so lucky’.
Indulge your musical passion on your stay in a Mulberry Cottage, with many of our properties boasting plenty of space to accomodate a visiting instrument (even a Cello!) or even including such musical luxuries as baby grand pianos. Firstly, I would like to introduce to you The Treasury- a magical, secluded property, sleeping up to 20 and complete with its own baby grand for your to seranade your nearest and dearest! http://www.mulberrycottages.com/cottage/holiday-cottages-in-kent/52477-the-treasury/
If the strum of a guitar is more up your street then why not take a trip to one of our newest properties Sand Dunes in Camber, with a guitar perfect for late night seranading in the light of a campfire! http://www.mulberrycottages.com/cottage/holiday-cottages-in-east-sussex/55013-the-sand-dunes/
