Tim Patient (Business Development Manager from the Winchester office) signed up for the popular Wight Ferry Sportive Bike Ride earlier this year and early on Sunday he set off to the New Forest National Park to begin the ride. The Wight Ferry Sportive bike ride is part of the Wiggle Super Series under the umbrella of UKcyclingevents.co.uk.
Tim chose the 73 mile standard route, (the alternative was the 95 mile Epic ………….next year Tim??!!!).
The cycle ride consists of 2 ferry crossings, 2 stunning sections in the New Forest National Park, a circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight.
With a short ferry crossing, there was a little break from the saddle and then back on the bike at Yarmouth to start the ’round the island’ section of the ride.
The island section is the hilliest of the 3 sections;
the route passes over the central downs on the island before returning via the southern coastal roads with their amazing coastline vistas.
Perhaps you also had time to look at some properties whilst you are on the Island Tim?
A finishers’ medal, massages, finishers T shirt and a free Ice-cream were all waiting for the riders, all thoroughly deserved…..well done Tim.
