We have quintessential English chocolate box cottages, converted barns, magnificent oast houses as well as contemporary town apartments with cutting edge interiors to make your stay a very stylish one indeed!  We have something for everyone – from picture-perfect love nests to large holiday houses great for those special occasions and celebrations. Our cottages in 1066 Country mean you can come and spend some quality time, and it’s great to bring history to life.

Battle is a brilliant place to visit

Battle is a brilliant place to visit

With this part of the county being so varied, there is plenty to see while you’re here; visit Battle Abbey where the epic 1066 battle of Hastings took place, stroll along the Twittens in the smugglers towns of Winchelsea and Rye, and discover the thousands of species of wildlife when walking through the depths of the Brede Valley. Hastings too has much to offer, with its wonderful Old Town, tiny lanes to explore and the magnificent architecture of St Leonards a short hop away.  1066 Country offers fabulous castles, amazing National Trust houses and stunning gardens to visit.

1066 Country is perfect any time of year – a winter break is quieter (and better value!) with many of our cottages having open fires or wood burning stoves, perfect for cosying up with a glass of wine and a good book.
