Sample some delights at the Sussex food festival this weekend…

With the weather looking changable at best, a planned activity seems like the best thing to guarantee a good upcoming weekend. What could possibly be better than stuffing your face with a range of local delicacies, or even taking some home (ideally to a Mulberry Cottage) to experiement with yourself?!

The adorable 1920's Horsted Keynes train station provides a perfect backdrop to celebrate local Sussex produce

The Sussex food festival gathers the best producers of local food and drink together for us to enjoy, is taking place this weekend at the Bluebell Railway and promises something for all the family. From local wine producers, stinky cheese makers and cream teas, chutneys and jams aswell as free English wine tutorials from the prestigious Bolney Wines (to help you sound suitably knowledgable as the trend for drinking British continues to grow!) all accompanied by the dulcet tones of the Bluebell Band! If you are feeling really adventurous, you could even take a trip on the historic steam railway through the Sussex countryside and step back in time to the 1920’s! Why not sit awhile, listen to the music and enjoy a Sussex Cream Tea or a Burger made with local beef…

The food festival is happening over both days from 10am until 5pm with adult station entrance fees of £2.50 and children for just £1. If you would like to stay close to the food festival, our charming property The Red House is available this weekend with added seasonal bonus of £250 off- why not have a sneaky peek and plan an off the hoof weekend inthe country?!

The gorgeous period facade of the Red House, yours for the weekend??!
