As we’re all very excited to announce our first Somerset property to the Mulberry portfolio, here is a little insight into what Somerset has to offer all those that pay a visit!
Gardeners Arms Cottage is a delightful holiday home located in Langford, North Somerset. Conveniently situated near all the major attractions, Gardener’s Arms Cottage makes for the perfect base to explore everything Somerset has to offer!
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out on your stay – there is a highly regarded restaurant within easy walk from the cottage and a drive or stroll through charming countryside or along a river bank will get you to Wrington or Congresbury Village pubs. If you prefer to cook there is a 24 hour local village shop, perfectly convienient to buy all the essentials!
No luxury cottage break at Gardener’s Arms Cottage is complete without a visit to Cheddar Gorge! Just fifteen minutes drive away, Cheddar Gorge is the biggest gorge in the UK! Rising to 450ft and spanning three miles long, there are plenty of activities to do here – walking and cycling to abseiling, climbing and adventure caving!
Less than thirty minutes drive from your holiday cottage location explore the medieval city of Wells with its beautiful 13th Century cathedral. Wells also has a bustling market put on twice a week – perfect for picking up a bargain or two on your stay.
The small town Glastonbury is around a 45 minute drive from Langford. Apart from being famous for its festival, Glastonbury is a lovely bustling town with plenty to see and do. The ancient ruins of Glastonbury Abbey was formerly one of the largest and richest Abbeys in England! Take the time to stroll across the 36 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the ruins – a perfectly relaxing way to enjoy your holiday break.
Don’t miss a trip to Glastonbury Tor on your Glastonbury visit; climb to the top of the hill and visit St Michaels Tower whilst enjoying the most spectacular views over the Somerset Levels. On a clear day you can see the neighbouring counties of Dorset to the south and Wiltshire to the east – don’t forget to take your camera!
A self-catering holiday at Gardener’s Arms Cottage is ideal the entire year round – for a bucket and spade holiday in the summer, spend some time at the beautiful sandy beaches of Weston – super – Mare and Burnham on Sea, less than thirty minutes away.
Famous for its fossils, Somerset has plenty of beaches for you to unearth and discover some fascintating finds! Head to the beaches at Watchet Beach, Quantoxhead and Kilve Cliffs to search for some of the best fossils around.
45 minutes from your holiday cottage, the city of Bath is set on a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has much to offfer on your stay. As well as being home to some of the most stunning architecture in Europe, enjoy a relaxing day at the Bath Thermae Spa – home to the only hot springs in UK. Enjoy some retail therapy too; Bath has SIX shopping quarters!
Don’t forget to visit the cosmopolitan city of Bristol too! Bristol is famous for its ties Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the greatest engineers of all time – his SS Great Britain and the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge really put the city on the map in the Industrial Revolution.
Puxton Park children’s farm and park one of Somerset’s great visitor attractions with indoor play barn and Pet’s Village.
