There are so many places to discover – one of the best ways in which to explore the forest is by bike there are numerous cycle routes to experience which take you through the heart of the New Forest. One of our New Forest cottages could be a perfect base from which to start your discovery and with a majority of the trails being off-road even the littlest members of the family can enjoy getting on their bike!


Travelling with a pet? Your four legged friends can be part of your visit. We have some perfect New Forest Cottages which accommodate pets. A visit to the Liberty’s Raptor & Reptile Centre could be a great way to spend a day. Located near Ringwood it houses a large collection of Birds of Prey, including Owls, Hawks, Falcons and Vultures. Feeling brave? They also have a collection of reptiles and other creepy crawlies in their renowned reptile house. Whilst you and the family are enjoying the centre, your dog can be looked after at their free onsite kennels.


Car fanatics would love the Beaulieu National Motor Museum, there are over 250 vehicles telling the motoring worlds stories through the years. You can see everything from Formula 1 cars to vintage race cars. The ‘World of Top Gear’ exhibits actual cars from the Top Gear team’s exploits all over the globe, including the Locus Excel submarine car from one of their Top Gear Bond specials. Along with your entry to the museum a visit to Palace House, home of the Montagu family since 1538, is included. Seasonal attractions are in place throughout the year, including Ghosts and Ghouls Half Term Hauntings running from Saturday 25th of October to Sunday 2nd of November and a special Fireworks Spectacular on November 1st. If you’ve biked and walked your way around the New Forest surely you deserve a lovely meal. In the New Forest the options abound, the town of Lymington offers selections from Italian and seafood to Asian themed restaurants.

The New Forest is renowned for its cream teas. Tea rooms are ubiquitous in New Forest villages and surely there is nothing more enjoyable than sitting down for some scones with cream and jam. The New Forest is lucky to be accessible for some of the south coast’s most beautiful coastline and beaches. Whilst commonly known for its open moors and wandering ponies, New Forest accommodation has 43 miles of coast. With this in mind, the New Forest offers skippered champagne cruises around the solent or you can hire a self-drive motor boat. Thrill seekers are catered for with the New Forest Water Park where you can water ski, wakeboard, kayak and try your hand at canoeing. Or you can simply enjoy a picnic at the water edge.
