Most people who have visited Kent in the past would tell you that it is impossible to leave without sampling some of the wealth of local ales on offer at any one of our thousands of public houses… as well as boasting a selection of local breweries (the Faversham ‘Shephard Neame’ company being among one of the more famous). CAMRA (or the campaign for real ale) has a real strong holding in the area, promoting the drinking of real, local ale over any imports for a greater pub experience. Here at Mulberry Cottage, we are great believers in the uniquely British pub culture and seek to show this is our support of the Kent beer festival, happening this weekend from the 19th to the 22nd just outside Canterbury.
With representation from most of the 26 breweries in Kent along with the best from around the country and live music to boot, the ‘beer on the farm’ event promises to be the best yet!
Why not stay for the weekend and make sure that you take part in the modern ‘PINTathalon’- a five event program where points are rewarded and the winners recieve gold, silver and bronze medals (like a certain other event that is happening this summer- but arguably much more fun!).
So with the chance to taste the best in cask conditioned ale, enjoy local music and get down and dirty on the farm sounds like your sort of thing, why not make a weekend of it and stay with us in Canterbury this weekend! See here for more information: http://www.kentbeerfestival.com/index.php
The event is running a shuttle service from the coach station in the centre of Canterbury to the event and so staying in the historic city is simply unmissable… why not try our brand new property in the heart of the city, Beckets House. Sleeping 6 and complete with amazing open ceilings and a sunny courtyard garden, you can now enjoy an extra 10% off the rental price resulting in a measly £42.5 per person per night!
