Picture the scene; its early on a frostly Sunday morning in December and you are enjoying the peace and tranquility of Victoria Park in all its misty glory…. Well perhaps best stay away from the Hayward’s Heath park on the 11th of December as you may well be trampled by thousands of Father Christmas’! They will all be raising money for an excellent cause, the British Heart Foundation, the preeminent charity supporting research into heart conditions.
Each runner will be supplied with their own special Father Christmas suit leading to the (potentially terrifying) thought of thousands of identikit figures haring over the hills. There is a 3 mile run starting at 9.30am and for those feeling the effects of too many early mince pies can embark on a more leisurely paced 1 mile walk from 10.45. All the family can get involved then with best dressed Santa awards, presumably for those who jazz up their outfits suffieciently, (Rudolph anyone?). There are more prizes to give away coutesy of the partner companies, Dolphin Centre and Freedom Leisure.Victory for christmas spirit everywhere!
