Winner of a 2 night stay at Honeypot, Nicky Betts, told us about her stay at this sweet little cottage surrounded by beautiful countryside in the heart of Kent.
‘Our original plan was to go to Devil’s Kneading Trough for a walk and a bite to eat, and then drive through the lanes to Petham, but the rain and death of my Sat Nav soon put an end to that!!
Still we found Honeypot without problems and settled in quickly!
It really is a gorgeous spot and just unbelievable that it has such good access to the M20 – you would think you are miles from anywhere. We had a peaceful night and made plans for the day over breakfast.
The weather was glorious on Saturday and we went to Grove Ferry for a trip down the river Stour,
spotting kingfishers and hunting kestrels and then a lovely walk around Stodmarsh Nature Reserve and a great meal at the Red Lion at Stodmarsh.
Sunday morning was spent leisurely, up early, sitting on the veranda watching the sunrise something normal life doesn’t allow time for!
The weather was amazing so what better way to spend the day than basking in the warm sun and a little blackberry picking!
It was fabulous.
In a nutshell – it is only a few miles from where we live but was a million miles from our daily lives – utter bliss!’
