About Plum Cottage

Plum cottage is a quintessential Dorset cottage set amidst the picturesque Stour Valley offering the sense of 'being away from it all' with countryside views, yet nestling just a 5 minute stroll from the vibrant cafes, bars, boutique shops and the historic Minster at the heart of Wimborne.

The cottage itself offers 2 beautiful bedrooms, a generous double and the second with bunks, ideal for youngsters (and the young at heart)! The 3rd bedroom, for those looking for an even more romantic night, is tucked away in a stunning converted Shepherds hut with log stove. The generous sitting/dining room offers plenty of space to gather for dinner or snuggle up by the log fire after the days events.

Thinking of heading further afield? Why not head west to the County Town of Dorchester just half an hour's drive away, find a hidden cove along the Jurassic coast or go fossil hunting at Lyme Regis.

"Plum Cottage is so idyllic and beautiful. Incredibly well equipped, cosy and comfortable. There was everything we could possibly have needed, and thoughtful little touches (like bread, eggs, homemade apple juice and cake on arrival) made us feel so at home. We were blown away with how perfect and lovely it was. A long weekend wasn't enough to enjoy the cottage and the beautiful towns and coast around, we'll just have to come back!"

November 2018

"A beautiful cottage and a perfect base for exploring all Dorset has to offer. From arrival to departure the thoughtful touches helped make our holiday brilliant. The brownies were devine and the eggs and bread ensured we had a delicious meal on the first night. We will definately be back!"

November 2018

"The perfect place for 3 generations and a dog! We loved the Shepherd's hut and I enjoyed an early morning cup of tea and a read of the paper in there while the kids were in the house! Tastefully decorated and well-equipped and handy being close to the town whilst also feeling like we were in the Dorset countryside. A lovely cottage."

August 2018

"Peaceful location yet within a few minutes walk to the centre of Wimborne. A cottage of character and well equipped. Many local places to visit both inland and on the coast."

March 2018

"Shrieks of delight as we explored the wonderful Plum Cottage (and that was mainly from mum!!). What a fantastic place - homely yet with all the mod cons. The veg basket was a wonderful addition too - our meals were based round the lovely vegetables and fruit. We'll be back!"

August 2017

"We booked Plum Cottage for a week in August to celebrate my partner's birthday and couldn't have been more delighted with our choice. It is located virtually in the centre of Wimborne, yet manages to feel like you're a world away, with stunning views of the Wimborne Minster and the surrounding fields. The cottage itself is just beautiful and decorated in a simple, tasteful way and the garden is amazing, particularly for energetic children (our sone particularly loved the shepherd's hut). It's a great base for exploring Dorset and we managed numerous trips to the coast, in addition to making to most of Wimborne itself. All in all, it was such a truly wonderful week at Plum Cottage, if I could buy it right now, I would"

January 2017
