About Dashwood Terrace

Dashwood terrace is a recently upgraded quintessential terraced house, just a few minutes walk from the city and close to St Giles Hill which offers stunning views across the ancient capital of England. Located towards the end of a no through road, it is a quiet and family friendly location that will suit those looking for a base from which to explore Winchester's wonderful heritage and the glorious Hampshire countryside.
It was built in 1902 to house railway workers but nowadays the house is more likely to provide some respite after a day visiting Winchester's many sites of historical interest, shopping, walking or dining in one of the city's excellent pubs or restaurants.

Accommodation is arranged over three floors. A character spiral staircase leads from the ground floor dining room down to a cosy living room with a large comfortable sofa and arched French doors leading to a pretty cottage garden. There is also an extra bed in the sitting room area. On the ground floor is a newly fitted, well equipped contemporary kitchen and the bathroom. On the first floor are two good sized, elegant bedrooms - one has an original fireplace and both have wooden floors and other period features.

The garden is a typical mid terrace garden, deceptively long with outdoor seating arranged on the decking making a sun trap which is idea for morning coffee and evening drinks. It's accessible from both the lower ground floor and the first floor kitchen via wooden stairs down to garden level.

This quintessential terraced house is the perfect spot to base yourself in amongst so much heritage and history that Winchester has to offer.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Dashwood terrace. It's proximity to the city centre means it’s ideal for wandering down into town and having a look around the historic cathedral or walking along the River Itchen. I loved having my breakfast sat next to the kitchen window while looking out into the garden. Had a lovely weekend, great spot - would recommend!"
