About Sophurst Cottage

Sophurst Cottage will give you that picture-perfect English country village experience, a wonderfully quiet cottage located on a country lane outside one of the quaintest English villages in Kent. The village has a lot on offer from a picturesque village green, the largest in Kent, cricket pitch, and pretty duck pond encircled by elegant Georgian houses. Take a stroll, have a picnic, visit the local pub or watch some cricket if weather permits.

Conveniently, one of the footpaths starts right by your cottage. On top of that the surrounding area is peppered with footpaths to take you on beautiful trails through farmland, orchards and woodlands. Inside your cottage has been painted with the same brush, pleasing to the eye with beautiful high end décor, inviting sumptuous sofas, tempting bedrooms and the softest flooring under your feet.

Complimented by a fully fitted glossy white kitchen, a south facing garden, you could easily imagine yourself living here.

Chill out in the countryside, a wonderful English country experience all in all.

Sophurst Cottage is located on a quiet lane just off the B2160, outside Matfield. Matfield's claim to fame is that Siegfried Sassoon, the famous World War I poet, was born and raised in Matfield. His book, 'The Old Century' describes his life in the area before 1914. Village life offers a few shops and gastro pubs, all a short walk from your cottage. Or drive in 10 minutes to the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells with so much on offer.
