About Captain's Quarters

If you've ever fancied life on the ocean waves then Captain's Quarters is perfect. Stylishly decorated to resemble a comfortable and relaxing sea captain's accommodation, and full of lovely quirky features such as a world map above the hearth, a captain's chair, shipping map and binoculars, and a large print of the famous Fighting Temeraire ship epitomised by J M W Turner, which happens to be the name of this apartment block.

Turner was a resident in Margate for some years and loved Margate for it's very special light. In fact he is often referred to as 'the painter of light'.

Captain's Quarters is the perfect place to stay in Margate to appreciate this light as the four large sash windows provide stunning 180 degree sea views, with exquisite sunrises and sunsets. The large open plan living space offers comfortable sofas for relaxing, and a ship's captains mahogany dining table. A treasure chest full of games and fully stocked bookcase will keep adults and children entertained if the weather turns a bit choppy!

The master bedroom has an ensuite shower and the second bedroom can be either a kingsize bed or a twin bedded room on request. The main bathroom is a tropical island retreat complete with parrots and pineapples!

Located just moments from direct access to over 9 miles of award winning sandy beaches, and the quirky Old Town, this apartment is both child and pet friendly so perfect for couples and small families.

"Many thanks for an incredibly comfortable stay. It has been lovely to have a change of scenery and we've really enjoyed ourselves in your beautiful flat. So lovely to be able to bring the dog with us too!"

Sarah, Sue, Harry & Mollie - November 2017

"Despite the 'cold' November weather, we managed a lovely walk to Botany Bay for the dog to run around on the beach. The apartment is nice and cosy and was perfect to come back to each day. Margate is always a great place to come. We'll definitely come back to Captains Quarters."

Kim, Gill and Jasper - November 2017

"Thank you for providing such a warm welcome and a beautiful home for our stay. Stunning view, perfect location and would definitely come again. It was the perfect rest away from London"

Claire and Manu - Novemeber 2017

"Such a wonderful flat in a stunning location. You have done an amazing job, Captain's Quarters is a fantastic location. The kids loved the walk / scoot to the beach. The couple who run Sunset Rock Shop were lovely, so pick up your beach toys there. We had great thin crust pizza at GB Pizza Company. Everyone we encountered in Margate has been so welcoming, even the lads running the kids rides on the beach were great with the children. Spent a few wet hours in the Pick n Paint a Pot, very close to Captain's Quarters and they ship it to you once it's been fired. The perfect end to our summer, we are looking forward to another visit, thank you."

August 2017

"Thank you so much for hosting us in your fabulous apartment. After spending long summer days on the beach and pottering around wonderful Margate, it was such a joy to come back to your beautiful place and kick back with a glass of vino and just watch the sea."

August 2017 - Cheung Family
