About Chaucer House

A large contemporary modern house set upon an equine estate, provides wonderful views of the paddocks, and countryside with roaming horses and wildlife.

This unique equine country getaway offers excellent short let accommodation available across two floors with a combination of doubles and twins with day beds across a floor 4 bedrooms. Two Master suites with balcony or juliete balcony with incredible views across the paddocks.

The owners welcome you to meet their friendly horses and enjoy the stable yard community, which makes this accommodation so very different, with the working stable yard across from the property within the estate.

Tucked down a small country lane, Chaucer House is in peaceful pastures. Horses graze nearby and for days out, head off to the Channel Tunnel for lunch in France or visit historic Canterbury close by.

Chaucer House: sleeps 12 +1, in  4 bedrooms, 2 en-suite shower rooms and 1 family bathroom, 2 receptions (including kitchen / dining room), 1 terrace with furniture to seat 16 plus guests, BBQ, pets permitted, parking off road for up to 6/8 cars.

Hall way, with sitting room and kitchen leading off.

Sitting room, snug seating for 12 guests on mixture of sofas (possible to sleep extra guests at a charge) TV, DVD player, log burner.

Kitchen, dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven, extractor, TV, Dining table and 16 seats. Log burner.

Downstairs cloakroom with WC and utility area.

Bed configuration (all upper floors)

First Floor

Master bedroom (sleeps 3) double bed and a single bed, double aspect windows, balcony and en-suite shower room.

Family room (sleeps 4) double bed and 2 x single beds and en-suite shower room.

Twin room (sleeps 2)

Double room (sleeps 2) 

Family bathroom, bath (jacuzzi) and seperate shower.

What you need to know

Cot and highchair available on request.

The owners have horses at the stables that can be petted but riding on the site is unfortunately not available. However, there is a riding school less than a mile away. 

Welcome basket of logs provided.

Livery options are available from £75 per week including stables and a paddock. Food can be arranged at an additional cost. The owners kindly ask guests to not feed the horses. Introductions can be made to the horses by arrangement with the owners.
