Decorated with pretty pastel hues, the country style kitchen is the perfect place to have a hearty meal before setting out on a day exploring this part of Sussex. If rest and relaxation is on order, enjoy toasted tea cakes with a pot of tea in the garden and admire the spring blooms, with a visually intriguing chalk cliff backdrop the accommodation is ideal for a peaceful stay in the historic town of Lewes.

Lewes and the surrounding towns offer plenty of events throughout the year to enjoy, this vibrant part of Sussex is well known for the scenic walks, arty escapades and seasonal celebrations. Chalk Cottage is perfectly settled at the foot of the impressive South Downs and features pretty antiques and characterful oak beams softened with the contemporary furnishings. The original log fire can be lit on cooler spring evenings and provides a wonderful focal point for the room, crack open a bottle of wine, sample the famous beer from Harveys Brewery or indulge in cocoa and marshmallows.

What you need to know

Travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available upon request.  A fixed cot can also be supplied should sufficient noticed be provided to the owner.

2 small well behaved dogs are allowed at Chalk Cottage.

Please note the road Chalk Cottage is located on is subject to parking restrictions.  On road daily parking permits are available to purchase for the duration of your stay at a cost of £1 per permit. Please indicate when booking whether you will require permits and how many. 

Initial starter pack of fuel for the fire is supplied.
