The Rowan is nestled within the private estate of Nutley Edge. Designed to bring integration for all with a mixture of 10 traditional and 2 wheelchair accessible cottages, you will find this a haven for all - including your furry friend!

This charming accommodation has plenty of room to enjoy your stay, with a spacious living room and a fantastic patio area with magnificent views across the 11 acres of countryside available for guests to explore. A home from home with comfortable and spotless accommodation, take time to wander the estate and spy the lambs in spring or admire the ancient woodland and stream. A haven for children and families or those looking for their own slice of English countryside to use as a base for wider adventures. See if you can spot the resident chickens and Charlie the cat!

Nearby to Nutley village which boasts a selection of restaurants and shops to visit on the doorstep, and supermarkets only a 15 minute drive away in Uckfield, there are plenty of places to stock up on treats for your indulgent break. Balanced on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, there are a myriad of activities to for those looking for a burst of adrenaline; from biking through the woodland trails to watersports and skiing near Bewl Water and Tunbridge Wells. For a more relaxing break, stroll through the National Trust Sheffield Park and Garden nearby or Scotney Castle a little further afield.

All 12 properties at Nutley Edge are available to book as a whole (Ash Cottage, Beech Cottage, Birch Cottage, Cherry Pip, Elm Cottage, Hawthorn, Holly Cottage, Nutley Farmhouse and Walnut Walk). Perfect for weddings and parties, make use of the 11 acre land, the communal seating and BBQ area and field which is perfect to place a marquee for a get together. So special...

Nutley is perfectly located near to Maresfield and Uckfield, in the heart of Mid-Sussex. On the southern edge of the Ashdown Forest near to the tiny hamlet of Maresfield lies this unique holiday destination from which to explore the endless delights of the surrounding area.

Glyndebourne, the world famous Opera House and a variety of National Trust and English Heritage properties and glorious gardens along with an abundance of outdoor pursuits are all within easy reach walking, cycling, horse riding and for a leisurely round of golf, the Championship East Sussex Golf Club is just up the road. Should you fancy a spot of fishing (permit required) you may be lucky enough to catch a trout on the River Ouse, reputed to have the heaviest weight trout on any English river! Head out towards Lewes and try 'Bills' Restaurant in Cliffe High Street for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great food and atmosphere. Opposite is Harveys Brewery and The Brewery Shop for great local beers and ales. There's also loads of flea markets around Lewes for browsers. Continue on to Brighton and check out 'The Lanes'.

We're also only 15 minutes from 'The Bluebell Railway' at Sheffield Park, an amazing restored stream railway line with a huge engine shed to walk around admiring the enormous locomotives. Just a 20 minute drive from Royal Tunbridge Wells, the lovely Georgian spa town is well worth a visit and the shopping is extensive full of boutiques and individual shops!

Or why not take a day trip to France, the Euro star Train from Ashford or the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone will transport you to a French location in record time - just don't forget to pack your passport! Also a 40 minute drive away is Tonbridge, a thriving town with an excellent 42 minute train service to London Charing Cross or to the seaside at Hastings! Tonbridge Castle with its wonderful Gatehouse, takes you back almost 740 years! Set in landscaped gardens with picturesque grounds overlooking the River Medway, Tonbridge Castle is reputedly England's finest example of a Norman motte and bailey castle. Tours are available from the Tourist Information Centre. There is a great bookshop located in this part of Tonbridge, Mr Books, in a beautiful medieval building. Tonbridge even has its own theatre, The Oast Theatre inside the 19th Century Kentish oast house, with 10 productions every year!

Cot and high chair available on request.  Please note that Nutley Edge charge a £10 surcharge for each item per stay.

Pets welcome but please keep dogs on a lead in the estate as there are sheep grazing in the fields, chickens roaming free and a resident cat. 

Please note this property will not be decorated for Christmas and the estate is a working charity.
