About Mill Barn

This beautiful holiday cottage has been thoughtfully and lovingly renovated as a romantic, cosy retreat for couples and walkers looking to explore the area.

The property features a high end kitchen with Everhot electric range cooker, spacious but cosy sitting room with log burner, a gorgeous bedroom overlooking the Common, and luxury bathroom with underfloor heating, double-end bath and walk-in rain shower. Your stay in this traditional, yet contemporary English holiday let will be relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable.

You can see attention to detail lavished on every room, from the granite worktops in the kitchen, the hand woven rope-work on the spiral stairs, the pretty garden and comfortable king-size bed, to the deep sofas to sink into while the log burner roars away.

For walkers there is plenty to do on the doorstep; Chailey windmill is a Grade II listed Smock Mill just 50 metres away, and from Mill Barn you can walk straight onto Red House Common, part of Chailey Common Local Nature Reserve. The common is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its heathland plants, insects and birds. If you want to reward your walk with some refreshments, within an hour's stroll you can reach the Bull at Newick, The Sloop at Scaynes Hill and The Griffin Inn at Fletching. There is also an Indian restaurant at Newick if you feel like a night off from cooking.

"Perfect! That is the only word for the cottage. The care and attention to detail is evident everywhere you look and nothing is too much trouble for Penny. Thank you so much for this beautiful and peaceful space and for the warm welcome on arrival. Our stay was indeed relaxed, comfortable and enjoyable. We had some lovely walks on the common, a day in London, easily accessed by the train from Haywards Heath. A lovely afternoon exploring Lewes and don't miss a trip on the Bluebell Railway. We will be back!"

Every detail has been carefully thought about, making you feel instantly welcome and at ease. As soon as we walked through the front door, we felt quite at home. Thank you! We have had a wonderful relaxing long weekend but now as we are leaving it has felt too short. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future."
