"Charming, atmospheric - loved the extra touches and attention to detail. Loved the view of the castle in the morning from the veranda. Great dog friendly pubs - except Winchelsea! For those who have read Pillars Of The Earth by Ken Follet, walk the footpaths to Sales Farm and Robertsbridge to explore the historical locations that inspired the book. We will try to get back again to stay in the restored railway carriage."October 2013
"What a lovely peaceful place to stay! The carriage is beautiful and unique and it is wonderful to sit in it in the evening and admire the decoration and artwork imagining what the lives of the previous owners were like and the life that went on in it. Thank you John for taking the time to show us your next project that will be a good one too, we may stay there in the future though we like this too, so it will be a hard choice. We were lucky to be here the same time as the Folk Festival, so that was fun listening to it in the hotel and pubs of Tenterden, and having a sing song coming back on the steam train."October 2013
"A wonderful peaceful short break in a beautiful setting. We absolutely loved the carriage and made good use of the kitchen and outdoor area! Everything has been so well thought through, we had everything we needed. The small torch came in very handy after dinner at The White Dog - that walk in pitch black would have given us the heeby-jeebys! We will definitely be back .... maybe in the summer next time to avoid the Daddy long legs!"October 2013
"Thank you for a lovely couple of nights away in the beautiful Sussex countryside, loved the unique accommodation and scenery."September 2013
"A fantastic honeymoon - beautiful scenery, great pubs and perfect relaxation. The flowers and welcome pack were a nice welcome. Thank you John for your hospitality, hope to see you again. Good luck with your new plans!"September 2013

"Nice place, great pubs - look forward to seeing the new carriages!"September 2013
"We have been thoroughly blessed with the weather, its been blazing hot and we actually went swimming in the sea at Camber Sands. Visited Tenterden and Dungeness on the trains, Sissinghurst and Dymchurch. The Prince Regent is a delight and the chairs on the deck are very comfortable. This setting is perfect for exploring and relaxing - Rye harbour walk is worth attention for what they are attempting with the landscape and the pub serves crab sandwiches. Thank you John, and good luck with your new ventures."August 2013
"A very relaxing holiday and pleasant week away in most unique carriage. Cant wait to get back next year and sample the new one! The dogs loved the walks around here... especially top the Castle Inn. The food at The Castle and The White Dog (Slightly better) is excellent but I wouldn't recommend trying to walk back from The White Dog in the dark! Tenterden is a lovely day out especially using the steam train for the journey."August 2013
