About Oak Cottage
Oak Cottage sits proudly on the edge of a working farm, in the heart of the West Sussex countryside. Looking directly south, the long-range, uninterrupted views extend over 7 miles almost to the coast, with the peaks of Chanctonbury and Cissbury Rings rising softly in the distance.
Inside there is a large open-plan kitchen and dining room, with two sets of bifold doors looking out over rural farmland - interspersed with hedgerows and dotted with oak trees. The idyllic farm theme prevails with animal prints and farm equipment adorning the dining room walls, continuing into the sitting room. With another set of bifold doors and windows to three sides, this bright, sunny space is also a warm and inviting corner to curl up in on colder evenings, with underfloor heating, log burner, comfortable sofas and large Smart TV for cosy nights in.
Upstairs offers a king-size master en-suite bedroom, a king bedroom, a family bathroom and a bunk bedroom with an extra single bed - perfect for the kids. This holiday cottage in West Sussex really makes the most of its superb location by the addition of a south facing balcony running the full length of the house, accessed by both double bedrooms.
Outside, the paved terrace and wide lawn are securely fenced to keep your children and pets safe while they enjoy the great outdoors. There is a cattle run on the other side of the fence where your bovine neighbours are sometimes driven, an exciting experience for young eyes! From the large circular patio table, look out at the big skies and long views over a relaxed breakfast, or sit out in the evening and watch the panoramic sunset. Either way, a memorable self-catering farm stay.
A short stroll leads you to the pretty Sussex village of Partridge Green, offering the family-friendly Partridge Inn with outdoor children's play area, and the gastropub The Green Man. To really stretch your legs, take a picturesque walk over the River Adur 500 metres away, and onto mile upon mile of public footpaths through rolling pastures. And for those lucky enough to have a pilot licence and access to a light aircraft, there is even a landing strip on the farm!
